Due to sales and trial and error, I've purchased the Ibex Balance Briefs in S, M, L. I am a size 10, and due to stretchiness all three fit, though differently. The small fits like a bikini brief, the large more like a french-cut. All work. After wearing wool undies since I took the plunge a bit over a year ago, I can say these are some of the most comfortable and versatile. The legs of the size L are starting to loosen with age, but still work, while the other two sizes, having less material to loosen, fit more like they have originally.

I have undies from i/o bio(I/O Bio Women's Merino Wool Contact Boy Brief), icebreaker (Icebreaker Women's Sprite Hot Pant), and stoic (Stoic Merino Boy Boxer - Women's). The ibex have the largest percentage of synthetic, but are also the only seamless varieties. At first I thought the thicker and more textured ibex versions wouldn't be as comfortable against my skin, but quickly revised my opinion once they were on. Ibex are the highest cut, the others are all low-rise friendly and have wide elastic bands at the hip-line. The boy-short version of the ibex balance brief has a tendency to roll up on my thighs, so the stoic work better when I want to cover my hips and the top of my legs.

I have come to love wool undies. They do not itch (ignore this if you are lanolin sensitive), they do not stink - even when you sweat, they are comfortable in hot and cold, and when you travel with them they can be hand washed and dry easily over-night (and are still comfortable if you are forced to put them on slightly damp).

These are absolutely the most comfortable underwear ever. I really like the fit and the material. Definitely a great product.

Update approx. 1 month later I am sad to say that there is already a small hole in these. I am starting to worry they just are not going to hold up and for the price I paid they really should not have a hole after only a month. I must drop this rating from 5 star to 3....still love them and will continue to wear and hope the hole does not get any bigger.

I love merino wool products... and though pricey... I definitely get my money's worth. Ibex is a favorite, because most of their products are made in the USA.. the balanced brief.. sadly is not.. but it is still awesome!

The material is soft and the product is great for outdoor activities like cross country skiing and hiking. I started out with one pair several years ago and liked the ibex brand so much that it is the only brand I buy for briefs now.

I love these! They're comfortable, totally breathable, don't seem to mind my weight fluctuations, and wash well. Oh, and because they're wool, they dry really fast too.
