At 200+lbs, XL was the right size.

The second, less serious issue is the tendency of the waistband to roll and bunch up.

I like the fit everywhere else, but the waist band really cuts into my hips.

Merino wool is the way to go, so far as boxer briefs are concerned. This pair from Ibex fits reasonably well, but has a couple of issues that detract from overall comfort. The first issue is that the right leg has a tag that causes some scraping and discomfort on the thigh; while it could be removed, I shouldn't have to perform surgery on my underwear to make them comfortable. The second, less serious issue is the tendency of the waistband to roll and bunch up. I don't experience this problem with any of my other boxer briefs.

Having tried merino wool boxer briefs from SmartWool, Ibex, Minus33, and Icebreaker, I'd recommend the Minus33 over all the others.

I have a 32-33 inch waist and so I ordered the medium based on ibex's size chart. The fit is very small in the waist. I like the fit everywhere else, but the waist band really cuts into my hips. Unfortunately there is not much stretch, so it can get uncomfortable.

I own a number of different Ibex wool items, and I used these on a 650 mile bike trip recently. I could go days without washing. Now I wear them on a regular basis .

This wool is soft and comfy and performs as merino wool should--It wicks away moisture, dries quickly, and does not retain odor. Great for traveling--Just rinse out and they're good to go. At 200+lbs, XL was the right size.

This merino wool underwear is very comfortable, although it may be a bit too snug in the waist. I think most underwear of this type are fairly short, and these are, too. Still, they are quite comfortable and I look forward to their turn in the "rotation" of underwear.

These are everything I had hoped for, but only one minor complaint... the little IBEX logo tag on the right leg hem is itchy and annoying. I cut it off immediately. IBEX makes terrific gear, and I'm continuously satisfied with their products.

Fits just fine and the wool works very well as a wicking material. Much better than a synthetic version, and it won't stink after 4 days of wearing it on a backpacking trip. I've worn a pair while hiking about every other weekend for the past year and I've encountered no real problems, and I'm noticeably less sweaty when wearing these instead of underarmor.

It is pricey though, and the fibers have a tendency to pill on the inside while you wear it. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
