1.0 out of 5 stars HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT July 18, 2012

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
My kids finished the whole game in less than a half hour. There are no story lines or different levels, It only has 10 games on it and they are so easy to do. The game is a total joke. Don't buy!

~Gameplay~
The game starts out with 3 options, to begin a "new story", a "tournament" or just play in "free play".

Story Mode: This part of the game definitely plays off the characters of the new Continental Drift movie, with the villains in the game being pirates. There are short, 30 seconds or so, scenes between each of the missions/games where you watch a clip of dialogue between all the characters. Depending on if you are successful or not with the previous mission will determine which clip plays each time. The missions are arcade like games, which have an almost Ice Age Olympics feel to them. Skiing, sliding, bowling, tossing and other types of competitions, where you first compete, then the pirates team competes, and who ever has the highest score in the end wins. While the games may look simple, they take several tries to complete successfully. However while in story mode, you only have one shot at each competition, and which ever team has more wins in the end gets the treasure. There are 20 competitions, so the whole game can easily be completed (not necessarily won) in an hour.

Tournament Mode: Basically the same as Story Mode, only without the movie dialogue clips, and you play against someone else. It's the 2 person version of story mode. So you and someone else both get to compete against each other. You can either use 2 Wii controllers or you can share a single one by passing it back and forth.

Free Play: This mode gives you the chance to play any game in any order, and as many times as you would like to. There is no story or dialogue, just pick which competition you would like to play and begin.

~Controls~
You use a regular Wii remote for the game, however about 80% of the competitions you will be turning the remote sideways.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great expectations, huge disappointment July 21, 2012

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
We pre-ordered this game, and my son (6 yrs old) was so excited. He loves the Ice Age games for PC and has played them over and over, especially Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. When Ice Age Continental Drift Wii arrived he was dancing around and couldn't wait to play it. After 15 minutes he turned it off. Made my heart hurt.

1.0 out of 5 stars HUGE Disappointment July 14, 2012

If you liked the other Ice Age games and you were expecting the same type of game...you are in for a HUGE disappointment. These are basically a few arcade games that you finish in less than 20 minutes. There is no RPG element or story line like The Meltdown or Dawn of the Dinosaurs. My daughter couldn't wait for this and waited to play it until after she saw the movie and was very upset when she finally got to the game this morning. I tried it out too but it was terrible! As my kids would say, "This was a HUGE FAIL!"
