Great Game!!,

First of all, some background. I have not seen the movie this game is based on, the only Ice Age I have seen is the first one, and I didn't think it was particularly great. I own five games, including this one, in the "action/puzzle" genre of games- Lego Star Wars, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, and UP. I think Indiana Jones is the best of all of them, and I like the Lego games a lot because of their user-friendliness, and ability to go back and redo levels as your favorite character. But Ice Age is in a close second. Now for the review: If you want a game that is easy to play for all ages and superbly fun, pick this up. You won't regret it. Also, I haven't played this game extensively yet, considering that I only got it yesterday.
Levels: so far I have encountered levels in caves, out in the wide open, and in the thick of a jungle. There are "Ice-Agey" snow levels briefly at the beginning, but you move to the jungle parts quickly. Scrat's levels are two-dimensional, and simpler than the rest. Characters: So far I have used Sid, Manny, Scrat, and a new character, Buck. Sid: Kind of an all-around guy with simple skills such as attacks and slams. Manny: only used for certain types of levels where you need to move heavy objects. Scrat: Like in the movies, Scrat is a crazy idiot who's constantly chasing his beloved acorn. His attack moves remind me of a kung-fu fighter on a sugar rush. Scratte: A girl version of Scrat. She fights with her tail and is a little less hyper with her movements. Buck: My absolute favorite! He is awesome! The moment you see him in a cut scene, you think Indiana Jones/Zorro. He's got this neat little eye patch, made out of a leaf. But the best part comes when you use him in a level. He's got this AWESOME whip, which is his means of attack, and swinging across big gaps. He also has this gun thing that shoots fire or something, one that shoots honey or water (whichever you fill it with), and some type of grenade. He can also slide on vines and on the backs of large dinosaurs. He is indeed an awesome character. I love him!!!! The bad parts of this game are quite small: The multiplayer mode is pretty pathetic compared to the singleplayer story mode. It's basically a lot of minigames. I think they could have done an alternate story for two players. That would make this game considerably better. The minigames themselves are eerily similar to the fantastic ones in Crash Bash. But if you want to burn some time with your friends, it's okay. Nothing else to say as yet, but I will definitely have some regular updates. --Update-- As of this update, I have used one new character, Scratte (see above) and also done two levels where you use Buck flying a pterodactyl, with Crash and Eddie as passengers. The first flying level is two-dimensional, the second is 3D and a bit easier. So far, you use Buck in four levels, not counting the pterodactyl ones.

This game was fun and could be completed quickly. Graphics were excellent and audio was terrific. My grandson (age 11) and I were happy with this game as it was light hearted and fun. Grammer school age children could complete it without help from adults.

I've been lookin' for this game for a while. I was introduced to ice age by my mother ( of all people ) and I enjoyed it. By the time I saw the third movie ( which I enjoyed ALOT!!! ) I thought that the video game would be adventurous. Finally I found the game at wallmart, took it home and played. It's an easy play game ( for adult such as myself LOL! ) but found myself in the movie as well. On the downside, when you play the game the story skips alot, but what do you do when you own a ps2 title with not much memory, they did the best they could, and I enjoyed myself playing the game. The fun part is, that there are many different aspects of the game, with bucks adventure to scrats 2d experience which is not only cute, but fun and steady paced like sonic. Try to collect all the crystals if you dare!! : )
