Ok, this toy does not deserve 5 stars but the other reviews were far too harsh. The first 30 minutes of my chihuahua terrified by this thing were worth the price. As a stuffed animal it's very cute but not too cuddly because it's hard plastic under the fur. I love scrat in the movie and the sounds this thing makes are quite funny at first but the do get boring soon unless you have a family pet to terrorize like I do.

Here's another trick. Put Scrat on a pillow with your hadn behind him so you can make him move and wiggle his tail without being seen, then have someone bring in the family pet. When I lunged at the dog's feet he screamed as being run through a meet grinder. This may sound cruel but I assure you the dog was not hurt and now enjoys showing Scrat who's the boss whenever we turn him on.

Admittedly, the mechanical execution is a bit weak but so what. If you love the little critter and get a kick out of him, it really doesn't matter. Of course, in the spirit of Scrat, it sort of makes sense that he doesn't work quite right...

I don't know why poor Scrat got so many bad reviews. My kids absolutely LOVE this toy. They laugh hysterically every time and they're 4 1/2 and 7. He does have a tendency to fall down and doesn't scoot very well. But the laugh factor alone makes this well worth the money.

My 4 month old AKC registered German Rottweiler, Bubals weighs about 35-40lb and absolutely loves this toy. He's had it from age 5 weeks to now, and still plenty more years to go with his favorite toy. I got this one for free from a friend who was going to throw theirs away and I cherished it for about 2 years. It was just collecting dust on my shelf so I gave it to Bubals when we first got him home. He loved it and it was almost as if he felt safe with it. LOL Might get him another in the future. Hope these stay in stock. The company should really start producing these again. I would be happy to let Bubals be the pitchman. Here is a picture of the little guy with his favorite toy. Look at the look in his eyes when someone tries to take it from him. LOL

I think it's cute! I suffer from depression and anything that can make me laugh is a good thing! I think Scrat is the cutest character in the entire Ice Age series and I think I've decided that I'm going to collect him.

This guy is very funny. The sounds he makes are a bit....say...phallic, but my daughter just loves scrat. It is an accurate representation and likeness of the creature. His tail and tongue are bendable, which is nice. Great item! A must have for the Ice Age fans out there!

After reading all reviews on Amazon, I have purchase this toy for kids and was very disappointed: tail does not move, does not do more than few jumps and even I have installed brand new batteries, you still have to push his nose every 10-15 seconds , so it would do something. Money defiantly spend for a wrong toy . Will not recommend to anyone.

After reading the other reviews I was slightly apprehensive about purchasing Scrat since it was such an expensive toy. I am so glad I went for it anyway. My 2 year old granddaughter loves all the Ice Age movies and Scrat is her favorite character. She was a little scared of it at first but quickly warmed up to the toy. The acorn for some reason is a treasure she doesn't let Scrat keep, she even slept with it under her pillow. The toy doesn't move as much as I would have liked, but the noises and gyrations are too fun. There is a switch under the velcro strip on his body that lets you change from what I assume is demo mode to full mode...this might be why some reviewers said it only made a few noises or fell over. Still feel it is a little expensive, but my granddaughters delight is priceless.

I collect Scrat things. I am 51 and enjoy the movies and of course Scrat. I have it sitting on my side bedroom table & lightly cross the arms of my eye glasses & place them on him. He is my eye glass holder. I look forward to more Scrat products.
I sculpt & am thinking of making a tea pot of him with acorn cups to match.

Ice Age 2 Go Nutz Scrat: Toy is very true to the character portrayed in the movie. Really maniacal and silly-looking (at the same time). Would make a great room decoration/conversation piece for a high school or college student, as well as a fun toy for little kids. Should be treasured by anyone who enjoys Scrat.
