I am a competitive figure skater, and this movie is what got me started in the sport. It has a very powerful and important message about not giving up on your dreams even when everything turns against you. My Mom bought me this movie when I was about 5 and I watched it every day, 2 or 3 times a day. I started skating soon after that, and now I am a very competitive National level skater. This movie has beautiful music and "Through the Eyes of Love" will just capture you, I skated to it at the 2000 World Figure Championship exhibition. I would highly recommend this soundtrack and the movie, they will take your breath away!!

I saw the original movie as a senior in high school and absolutely loved it. It was only recently that the movie and soundtrack were easy to find. (I still have an original Beta tape of the movie from the early 80's.) If you've never seen the movie, buy the DVD, watch the movie, and if you love what you hear, but this CD! Great to listen to in the car during your commute home from work.

I guess I am biased as Through the Eyes of Love was my first dance at my wedding. But that song makes the CD worth it! The song is just absolutely gorgeous -- lyrics and instrumental!

This is a CD filled with such beautiful, sweet music. "Through The Eyes of Love" is a gorgeous ballad and truly describes the love story in the movie. "They Threw Flowers" and "Finale" are superb as well. But I dock it a star because they didn't include the swelling music where Lexie had her accident in the movie. A terrific soundtrack, if you can find it!

This CD is a tough find, from the 1978 movie, the strongest point of this one is Melissa Manchester's "Ice Castles" Theme. The other instrumental stuff is heavy, and very different. I love the bonus of Alan Parsons Project's "Voyager". All in all, this is a great soundtrack and I have never even seen the movie. It's worth it just for Melissa Manchester's song.

It's funny that I say this, but I consider "Ice Castles" one of the most beautiful soundtracks ever. For starters, Marvin Hamlisch created -along with lyricist Carole Bayer Sager -a very touching song with 'Through The Eyes Of Love', and I wouldn't want to forget the tremendous instrumental arrangement on track 5 of the CD, with that spectacular trumpet writing at the end. It's just sublime and marvelous.
Of course, since we are looking at a movie that tells the story of a young female skater who suffers a mishap that leaves her blind, Hamlisch's music is more focused on the source music for the skating numbers -as well as the track composed and performed by Alan Parsons -and that makes this album a great listen. There are also a couple of incidental tracks like 'They Threw Flowers' and 'Learning Again', which I consider dramatically powerful.
So let's face it: This is a beautiful CD. You can relax while listening to it.

The soundtrack from the movie Ice Castles is timeless. I first heard it when I was 20 years old. And now, 30 years later, the power of the music still reaches out and touches you. The music playing at the final skating contest is unparalleled even to this day. The trumpet solo is still as memorable as it was 30 years ago.

Worth every penny!

This is a great soundtrack. The music is very beautiful even though it is 20 years old. The only thing that disappointed me is that it did not contain the other Melissa Manchester hits that were played in the movie. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase!

Great Movie, Great Misic!! A Classic! Show you can over come almost anything and still have love in your life. Be careful who you trust. The best things are right in front of you most of the time. So don't let slip through your fingers. A have to see movie, you will watch it over and over again. You need to get the CD also, it will keep you company while in the car, Great Music!
