OLD SCHOOL,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ice Cold Funk: Greatest Grooves of Chocolate Milk (Audio CD)
This is a very good old school group! I would like to see if anymore of their music is available on cd! I especially love the songs "Groove City, and How About Love! I really had a hard time finding any music for this group!

From New Orleans, comes this cool cutter funk disc. This septet never made any super hits like Superfreak or Boogie Wonderland but they created alot of heat between the years of 1974 and 1985.Produced by funk doctor Alan Toussaint (he produced many of the Meter's first albums), you won't be able to stand still. The drums are hard and the horns and the vocals are too sweet, especially on Actions Speak Louder Than Words and Take It Off.Let the good times roll.

This is a great CD for the real Funk and Soul music lovers!! "Action Speaks Louder Than Words", "Groove City", "Girl Callin", and "Say Won't Cha" are definitely solid jams on here. Eventhough their music was not as popular as other Funk, R&B and Soul groups, their cuts are just as, and in some cases, better, than the more popular radio funk hits!! You can actually feel these songs. They are not watered down nor commercially dry.
