"Ice", the main character was a product of following his dear mother's advice. His mom was verbally brutal to her husband, which eventually led her husband leaving his family. Mom's advice: be a man, don't be a wimp like your father - be cold as ice! One thing led to another in his life, thus causing Nathaniel "Ice" Wilson to become a cold-hearted, calculating thief.

The story of "Ice" transfers through major drama and mayhem as the reader peers into his life. As result, consequently, Ice get a pass to jail for 4 yrs. Beaten and forced into a brutal rape, "Ice's" life is advanced to a whole different level.... but wait - he gets out of jail after being somewhat of a "good" boy and is leashed back to the streets again.

Things have changed and yet.... things have stayed the same.

It's a small world in his circle of street associates. A little kid, named Rizz, who once looked up to and admired Ice when he was major (before he went to jail) is now "that man"; flossing - balling major and running things in the streets. He meets up with Ice after Ice's release and calls himself rescuing Ice and offering Ice a chance to make some nice money and roll with him & his crew.

Ice is back on the streets now and making his pockets easy, only to find that he was the founder and major contributor of the so-called hustle he was permitted to become a part of.

Dejon's conclusion at the end of the book builds and the drama is magnified. This story has an unusual twist at the end. I won't tell....BUY THE BOOK.

When I first met the author, Dejon, he was hustling his book at Target parking lot in Brooklyn. After talking to him for a bit, I was reluctant. At first the title threw me off, I orginally thought "Another freaky street ghetto tale?", but I bought the book.
To my surprise the book is nothing like it's title. I must say it was a page turner! The whole situation with Ice in jail was something else. I mean we hear the stories about what goes on, but Dejon puts it in details! WOW!
After reading the book, I relized that whatever evil one does will always come back to bit you on your a**! Dejon, Good job on your first novel!
When I am ready to buy your next novel I hope to see it in the bookstore, if not I am always in Target on Sundays!

Hey De Jon, I am the lady you approached with your 2 young cousins when I was sitting in my vehicle in the parking lot of Gateway Shopping Center. As you said I wouldn't be able to put the book down because it was soooo good. You were right and I was hooked like a crack addict. I just wanted to support a young brother in buying your book and I hope you are coming out with another book real soon. I hope you don't mind a word of advice but, please proofread by watching the typos and grammatical errors, then Oprah can put it on her reading list as one of her up and coming new authors to watch out for. PEACE!!!!!!

I stayed up late last nite finishing "Ice Cream for Freaks" and it turned out to be a surprisingly good read! De Jon did a nice job on his first novel. The first 3 or 4 chapters started out kind of slow for me, but then things really picked up. Nathaniel a.k.a. "Ice" is a young brotha in NYC who loves to get that "paper" only problem is he'll take yours before earning his own. As the book opens Ice robs Supreme for his bling, and Supreme then sends his 2 hitmen on a mission to find out who jacked him. It turns out Supreme knows a chick, who knows a girl that braids Ice's hair and everything goes crazy from there! Ice eventualy ends up in jail and his manhood is put to the test.This hot novel is full of revenge, murder, drugs, money, sex and drama! The ending of this novel is unbelievable! So if that's the kinda stuff you like reading about, this is the flavor ice cream for you.

Man, Let me tell you that you must get that book. It's all that and then some from the front to back. DeJon did the the dayum thing fo'real need to cop that you won't be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!! Dejon thanQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry Dejon, but this book was not good at all. It was all over the place. I guess its one of those books where inside of it, the world is just too small because all the characters connected in some way. But as far as the title, that had nothing major to do with the book. And yea, whatever happened to him while he was locked up didnt effect how he lived his life when he got out. And that my dear readers, is why the book was WIGGIDY WACK!!! Nevermind how everyone who got killed, the killings were so exaggerated...nothing really like real life.

Dejon's first novel was crazy ill with alot of unsuspected drama and freaky sex! I couldn't put the book down because everytime I turned a page the plot had all kinds twists and turns that will throw you off guard everytime. Dejon I am very much looking forward to reading your second book MY SKIN IS MY SIN and Part 2 of ICE CREAM FOR FREAKS in the future. I'm sure I will read those books in under a day also. Keep up the good work! God bless.

I didn't think this was good at all. There was no real plot! Do yourself a favor and save your money for a different book.

This book was very slow read, not all that good at all

Watch what you do cause you don't know who knows who! This is a very good book. Packed with DRAMA and you know we all love that. I put this one on my list of must reads. If you have'nt read it yet, treat yourself, don't cheat yourself!!
