The Queen of Butterfat presents,
This review is from: Ice Cream: The Ultimate Cold Comfort (Paperback)
Recipes for the coolest temptation in history. Quinzio, an expert in culinary history and recipes, serves up palate pleasers for the traditional and the bold including Cherries Jubilee, Banana Daiquiri and Maple Pecan Mouse, not all of which need an ice cream maker. I tasted many of the recipes--and I've tasted the best around the world--so I can tell you first hand that this is a delicious collection for the first timer or seasoned ice cream aficionado.

A flavorful book,
This review is from: Ice Cream: The Ultimate Cold Comfort (Paperback)
This is a great book for anyone who loves ice cream. There are dozens of delicious recipes for ice creams, frozen mousses, sorbets, granita and sauces. Instructions are clear and easy-to-follow. In addition, the author entertainingly relates the history of ice cream from 16th century Italy to 20th century America. The book is a wonderful gift for a good friend or just a treat for yourself.

Opens a whole new world,
By Barbara Mende (MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ice Cream: The Ultimate Cold Comfort (Paperback)
Never thought making ice cream was fun, but it is with this book! And even if you've never made ice cream, it's fun reading about the history of ice cream and the people who made it, told in Quinzio's witty and engaging style. But you may well be tempted to get an ice cream maker (you don't always need one) and try the recipes, and it'll be worthwhile!

I just made the Raspberry Sorbet. It was wonderful! The added Rosemary gave it a special note. Next I can't wait to make The Creme De Provence as I have some dried lavender left from my garden. Every recipe works!
