Everyone agrees that snow sledding is a blast, but unfortunately the snow never lasts as long as it should. Enter the Ice Meister Slicer all-season sled, which works on both snow and grass. The Slicer's smooth, contoured shape and low-profile runners allow it to perform well on both packed snow and in deep powder. But by attaching a thin ice surface--made from the included patent-pending Icers--to the bottom of the Slicer, you'll readily convert the sled from a winter-only model to one that can be used on the grass in summer months.

The Slicer owes its grass sledding performance to its hollow, double-walled construction, which includes two patent-pending, removable Icer assemblies. Each Icer acts like a large ice-cube tray. Just fill the trays with water, freeze them for 24 hours, and attach the resulting ice blocks to the bottom of the Slicer between the sled runners. When outdoor temperatures are above freezing, the melting ice creates an extremely slippery surface, providing winter sledding fun in the summertime. The Slicer opens up a world of sledding opportunities, from hilly parks to golf courses.

Just as importantly, the Slicer doesn't take a backseat to other sleds when used on snow, with a double-walled, unibody design that absorbs bumps while cushioning riders weighing up to 200 pounds. The Slicer actually works! We bought two, so the ice trays take up a lot of room in the freezer (and the lids don't stay on so well, so expect some water spillage), but they fit into a side-by-side freezer (a wider freezer would be optimal). To remove the Icer from the tray, use warm tap water. We used the slicer on brown, dormant winter grass, and it worked quite well. It went faster and faster as the ice really started to melt. I imagine it will go even faster on green grass. We live in Dallas/Fort Worth, so we'll take whatever sled action we can get!

Cons: The back sled door likes to come open or come off during riding, so keep an eye on it. The Slicer is quite heavy, but it comes with a tow rope.

So far, we have only used the sled in winter, but it is light weight, fast and easy for my 4 and 6 year old grandchildren to use. We are looking forward to using them on the grass this summer to ice block.
