Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Set at the secret CIA training facility called the Farm at Camp Peary in Virginia, a young agent trainee named James Clayton (Colin Farrell) is failed during his training, then recruited by his ex-trainer Burke (Al Pacino) to take part in a secret undercover operation designed to thwart the theft of a destructive program known as 'ICE NINE.'

The player, as a covert operative for the CIA, performs missions handed down by a high-ranking CIA member. The missions take the player through a conspiracy plot that leads right to the top!

The Recruit takes place in first person mode, so the player works their way through missions seeing what the game character sees, i.e. only their hand and the weapon they're currently holding. The player shoots enemies, plants microphones, knocks people out, and snipes enemies from on high. Mission briefings are supplied at the beginning of each mission, and occasionally updated mid-mission if the scenario has changed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ice Nine delivers from start to finish!, July 11, 2004

This review is from: Ice Nine (Video Game)
Ice Nine is the second best FPS for the GBA and the last released. Ice Nine re-uses the same Duke Nukem Advance engine that I love so much and which makes this game so good. The graphics in this game must be seen to be believed and are visually stunning. Ice Nine features 3 skill levels which give you bonuses after you complete each mode. An array of weapons is also given to you: a knife, pistol, sniper rifle, machine gun, shotgun, grenade launcher, and a rocket launcher. The game starts out with your training and then throws you into the action of a major conspiracy. Ice Nine also features levels set in the daytime, evening, and night (night vision goggles come in handy here!). The game is fun and enjoyable from start to finish! A must-have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Cool, May 20, 2004

I guess I am the first person who has actually played it. I must say it is pretty cool. It is very challenging but fun. The music is not bad, but it doesn't need to be perfect. The graphics are very nice and smooth. I love to blow up stuff, just to see the explosions. The levels are very interactive, meaning if you shoot something, it is obliterated. The sound is neat but nothing new. The difficulty level is challenging, but good. One thing that annoys me is that if you don't meet a certain score, than you don't beat the level. You may have to play several levels over and over. All in all, this is not the best fps for gba, but it sure comes close.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game will rock!, September 11, 2003
This review is from: Ice Nine (Video Game)
Now, I have not played it yet (duh) and so I'm rating it on what I've seen and read. First of all Ice Nine will most likely be the best game for the Gameboy. It runs at 30 Fps (frames per second) and has blistering good graphics. The animation is awsome and some of the voices are supplied by Colin Farrell and Al Pacino (yes the actors). There is also a totally cool looking multiplayer mode using the link cable. There are lots of guns and weapons to use at your disposal and plenty of action to keep you entertained for hours. When this comes out get it.
