The Ice from the title is the Antarctic. Charbonneau takes us to the most distant continent to witness a love affair of an adventure seeker and a lady scientist. To add some more spice he throws in large deposits of oil and greedy businessman from the US who doesn't hesitate to kill people to make some more bucks.
Perfect reading for a hot summer day - just looking at ice cubes melting in your drink will make you shiver.
