Product Description

CD packaged in a standard jewel case with a twelve page booklet.

Hollywood formula dictates that high school bookworm Casey (Michelle Trachtenberg) must struggle against both her own strong-willed mother (Joan Cusack) as well as her rival's (Kim Cattrall) in her quest to become a champion figure skater. It also inspires this soundtrack to be anchored by a rousing, against-all-odds anthem, "Reach," an infectious modern rocker by Caleigh Peters. Elsewhere, budding teen idol Jesse McCartney offers up the slick, 80's-inflected groove of "Get Your Shine On" while Michele Branch's "You Set Me Free" and "I Fly" by co-star Hayden Panetierre are infused with an inviting, harmony-rich contemporary sheen. Disney's penchant for energetic teeny-pop is showcased via Emma Roberts, Superchick and Natasha Bedingfield. But it's also an album eclectic enough to include the unabashed retro-Broadway charms of Lucy Woodward's "It's Oh So Quiet" and the more modern melodrama of Diana DeGarmo's "Reachin' For Heaven." --Jerry McCulley

I love this soundtrack. There are alot of great songs.

1.Reach-Caleigh Peters-10/10:Great song, a great meaning. I have loved this song ever since i saw the video on Disney.3:43

2.If I Had It My Way-Emma Roberts-10/10: Great upbeat dance song. 2:39

3.Get Your Shine On-Jesse McCartney-10/10:This is from his album "Beautiful Soul" and is one of my favorites. 3:12

4.You Set Me Free-Michelle Branch-10/10:A nice song. Not slow, not fast. 3:11

5.Reachin For Heaven-Diana DeGarmo-15/10: I love this song. I'm a big Diana fan, and her voice is really great on this song. Her voice is really strong, and the music is too. It starts off slow, but then breaks out into a big upbeat song. 4:29

6.No One-Aly & A.J.-10/10: This song has a great message, and a nice guitar. The girls co-wrote it. 2:57

7. It's Oh So Quiet-Lucy Woodward-5/10:I don't really like this song. She uses "sssshhh" to much. I'm not really a big fan of Jazz. But points for effort. 3:39

8.Get Up-Superchic[k]-9/10: A good upbeat song. I like her voice in the chorus. 3:35

9.I Fly-Hayden Panettiere-10/10: I love her voice. She is also in the movie. The beat of the song goes great with the words. 3:33

10.Just A Dream-Jump5-10/10: I just recently got into Jump5 and i love this song. I don't have their album "Dreaming In Color" (Where this song is from) but i love the beat from this song, and now i can't wait to get their cd. The guys sing lead, so that's another great bonus. 3:18

11.Bump-Raven-Symone-10/10: This is my favorite song from her cd "This is my Time" and it has a great dance beat. 3;29

12.There is no Alternative-Tina Sugandh-10/10: Has a great middle eastern dance beat. The really upbeat part is the chorus.

I must confess before I even start this review, that I originally purchased the ICE PRINCESS soundtrack simply for the Caleigh Peters song "Reach," which I absolutely adore. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I love almost every song found on this wonderful soundtrack.

-"Reach" - Track 1 - Caleigh Peters - Caleigh has an amazing voice, and it's showcased in this fabulous, upbeat song that features a wonderful message for all listeners.

-"No One" - Track 6 - Aly & A.J. - I've been a fan of Aly since "Phil of the Future" first appeared on the Disney Channel, but I never knew that her an her sister had such an amazing amount of musical talent. This is a gorgeous, mid-tempo song that can't be missed!

-"Unwritten" - Track 13 - Natasha Bedingfield - I've never heard of Natasha Bedingfield before, but now that I've listened to "Unwritten," I'm dying to hear more from her. A wonderful song - the chorus is super catchy!

-"Just A Dream" - Track 10 - Jump 5 - I've been a fan of Jump 5 for many years, so I'm extremely excited that they have a song on this soundtrack. Especially one as catchy as "Just A Dream." It's nice to see the guys sing lead for a change. Listen for the chorus - it will definitely get you grooving!

-"Get Up" - Track 8 - Superchic[k] - This is one of those songs that you just have to dance to. The members of Superchic[k] have fabulous voices that blend together very well, for the music lovers listening pleasure.

-"I Fly" - Track 9 - Hayden Panatierre - I've been a fan of Hayden Panatierre since I first heard her perform a song for the TIGER CRUISE soundtrack. Her voice is beautiful, and so is this song.

I really loved this sountrack cd. Great songs, great singers, great production.
I especially loved "I Fly" and "Reaching For Heaven". Both songs have inspired vocals and lyrics that I immediately connected with. This is great pop music!

This album could've been a lot worse without Diana's "Reachin' For Heaven." This song is so good that it made me give it 5 stars, though many other songs are subpar *cough*Jesse McCartney*cough*. If you really want to hear a song that is worthy of "Breakaway"'s stature, buy this album for "Reachin' For Heaven."

By the way, if you also like Diana DeGarmo, I suggest you check out her priceless debut album, "Blue Skies."
