A MUST Own Soundtrack,
By
This review is from: Ice Princess (Audio CD)
I must confess before I even start this review, that I originally purchased the ICE PRINCESS soundtrack simply for the Caleigh Peters song "Reach," which I absolutely adore. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I love almost every song found on this wonderful soundtrack.
STANDOUT TRACKS: -"Reach" - Track 1 - Caleigh Peters - Caleigh has an amazing voice, and it's showcased in this fabulous, upbeat song that features a wonderful message for all listeners. -"No One" - Track 6 - Aly & A.J. - I've been a fan of Aly since "Phil of the Future" first appeared on the Disney Channel, but I never knew that her an her sister had such an amazing amount of musical talent. This is a gorgeous, mid-tempo song that can't be missed! -"Unwritten" - Track 13 - Natasha Bedingfield - I've never heard of Natasha Bedingfield before, but now that I've listened to "Unwritten," I'm dying to hear more from her. A wonderful song - the chorus is super catchy! -"Just A Dream" - Track 10 - Jump 5 - I've been a fan of Jump 5 for many years, so I'm extremely excited that they have a song on this soundtrack. Especially one as catchy as "Just A Dream." It's nice to see the guys sing lead for a change. Listen for the chorus - it will definitely get you grooving! -"Get Up" - Track 8 - Superchic[k] - This is one of those songs that you just have to dance to. The members of Superchic[k] have fabulous voices that blend together very well, for the music lovers listening pleasure. -"I Fly" - Track 9 - Hayden Panatierre - I've been a fan of Hayden Panatierre since I first heard her perform a song for the TIGER CRUISE soundtrack. Her voice is beautiful, and so is this song. -"Reachin' for Heaven" - Track 5 - Diana DeGarmo - As someone who doesn't watch AMERICAN IDOL, I had never heard Diana DeGarmo perform. However, I did hear about her amazing voice, a LOT! I will admit that her voice is amazing, and so is this song. It conveys a wonderful message that listeners will love. The other songs found on the ICE PRINCESS soundtrack are all wonderful too, featuring tracks by Raven-Symone (THAT'S SO RAVEN), Jesse McCartney, Michelle Branch, Emma Roberts (UNFABULOUS), and more. Fans of the movie HAVE to check out this soundtrack. You will not be disappointed. Erika Sorocco Book Review Columnist for The Community Bugle Newspaper

Diana DeGarmo saves this soundtrack,
By M. D. "musikfan05" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews

This album could've been a lot worse without Diana's "Reachin' For Heaven." This song is so good that it made me give it 5 stars, though many other songs are subpar *cough*Jesse McCartney*cough*. If you really want to hear a song that is worthy of "Breakaway"'s stature, buy this album for "Reachin' For Heaven."
By the way, if you also like Diana DeGarmo, I suggest you check out her priceless debut album, "Blue Skies."

I am very impressed,

I'm not the type to buy very many disney soundtracks, particularly for my children. My daughter asked me to make an exception for this one since she really loved the movie. I was very impressed on this one. It speaks many words of inspiration and many of the songs have nice beats and good lyrics.

This soundtrack absolutely rocks!,

ALL of the songs on this Disney soundtrack album are fantastic. I love them ALL! My favorites are "Reach (For It)", "If I Had It My Way", "You Set Me Free", "Reachin' For Heaven", and "Bump". There is not a single song on here I don't like. How many CDs can I say that about? I am just not certain. Plus being family-friendly, you can invite the little kids to listen to this also. It is perfectly suited for them, but enjoyable for adults as well. Buy it today if you can! My daughter and I listen to this one, like, religiously. We mean it in the sense that we cannot put it down. 5 stars.

A Perfect Soundtrack For A Perfect Movie!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Ice Princess (Audio CD)
Whether you're a fanatic of hip-hop, r&B, pop, rock, or even show tune-like music, there is something for almost every type
of music on this album. Goes along well with an absolutely great film and has some of the best songs yet, as performed by hit artists such as Raven~Symone` and Jesse McCartney, plus newcomers Aly & A.J. and Caleigh Peters. The song "Reach" by the fresh, new, out-of-the-oven artist Caleigh Peters (releasing her debut album this fall) has a perfectly good rock edge and makes perfect sense why it was picked to be the single for the soundtrack. "If I Had It My Way" by Nickelodeon sensation Emma Roberts celebrates the wish of being carefree as a teen (and goes carefree with the lyrics) and is the perfect pop song...one of the best I've ever heard from Emma (Unfabulous soundtrack due next month)! "Get Your Shine On," is a mix between pop and hip- hop and taken from then teen wonder's album, "Beautiful Soul," and is the perfect song for dancing to, although it can get slightly annoying after time. "You Set Me Free" by Michelle Branch shows the positive reactions in an obviously previous relationship and taken from her 2001 album, "The Spirit Room." "Reachin' For Heaven" by "American Idol" runner-up Diana DeGarmo is a beautiful song with a beautiful voice to sing it. "No One" by teen risers Aly & A.J. (Aly from Disney Channel's "Phil Of The Future") was co-written by the duo with positive lyrics and talented guitar and vocal abilities. Excluding the "shh...shh," the song "It's Oh So Quiet" is so fun and Brodway-like and such a good song. "Get Up" from Superchic[k] reminds teens and children to try when they've fallen and makes a beautiful song for the soundtrack. Hayden Panettiere, star of the movie, shows off her Hilary-like voice in the ultra-powerful "I Fly." Jump5 lends "Just A Dream" from 2004's "Dreaming In Color" to a tremendous soundtrack. Great voices from the now foursome. "Bump" by Raven~Symone is taken off her third solo album, "This Is My Time," and does tremendously well as a hip-hop/pop song for the CD. "There Is No Alternative" is one of the many major highlights from the album and I enjoy singing along to this song. "Unwritten," the title track to Natasha Bedingfield's album from last year shows off her beautiful voice and keeps you entertained for a good six minutes. I hope that this review helps you decide to buy this album. Sincerely, Darren Cato Amazon nickname "total_rebel"

Ice Princess Is Totally COOL,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Ice Princess (Audio CD)
Oh. My. God. This is an amazing album.I especially like "Reach", "No One", and "Reachin' For Heaven". Here's a full review of all the songs from my point of view:
Reach: Great song, nice message, awesome artist!Caleigh Peters did a great song on her first hit (I think it's her first hit. I've never heard of her before). Anyway, it's my favorite track. If I Had It My Way- This song is only a step or two up from Hilary Duff, whom I hate with every fiber of my being. I didn't know that Emma Roberts is pursuing a career in music! in my personal opinion, (I guess it's not personal anymore, for I just posted on the internet for the world to see)I did not think her as all that great when she sang on "Unfabulous".This song is alright. Get Your Shine On-*high pitch fangirl squeal* JESSE MCCARTNEY! JESSE MCCARTNEY! JESSE MCCARTNEY! JESSE MCCARTNEY! JESSE MCCARTNEY!!! If I had to judge him on looks alone, he definitely passes. The song? Only so-so. In his smash hit, Beautiful Soul, he really flaunted his great pipes. In Get Your Shine On, I don't know, he did something weird with it. nice song. You Set Me Free- I've been a fan of Michelle Branch ever since her debut in 2003.But my parents fequently play her CD, The Spirit Room, in the car cuz they won't let me listen to Z100, so I know the lyrics to this song backwards and forwards. It was just a little boring for me. Reachin' For Heaven- oh my gosh, this song rocks! It's got some phenomenal lyrics. I especially like the part that goes "like a phoenix rising from the flames, i'm reaching for heaven". This track will totally get you thinkin 'why didn't Diana win American idol?'When i first heard the song, that's exactly what I thought. No One-*sniffle* This song is really beautiful, if not completely gorgeous.Alyson Michalka and her sister A.J. make references to their love of playing guitar in this song. Ex: 'i feel like a guitar that's never played, won't somebody strum away?'Gosh, do they have delightful voices. You can definitely tell the differences between them, though.I really like this song. It's Oh So Quiet- Jeez, this song is weird. I never heard of Lucy Woodward before, and this song did not leave a good impression on me. I really hate it when she screeches during the chorus. Really, really don't like this song AT ALL. Get Up-I am a fan of Superchic(k) mainly because of their song "Na Na" from the 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' soundtrack. Basically, Get Up is just a less upbeat version of Na Na. If you've heard the song, their voices are probably very recognizable.Good song. I Fly- Alright DO very much like Hayden Panettiere in her acting and singing, but lately i feel like all of the management agencies are giving these young stars all of these voice lessons just to give them something else to do to raise millions of dollars! Hayden's good singer, and I don't deny that, but this song just made me take a step back from fanhood for her. The 'ly ly lys' at the beginning of the song bothered me a little. This is an good song. Just A Dream-Look, I'm sorry for this, but i REALLY don't like Jump5. I basically got my first and last taste of them when I heard the Lilo&Stitch The Series theme song, which I thought brought the term 'crappy theme song' to places unexplored. This song, to me, was the hugest pile of dog crud in the history of,well, ever. Bump- Okay, is it just me, or is Raven going a little Britney Spears, if you know what I mean? I began thinking so when i first heard and saw the video for "backflip". This song just weirded me out a little. not a great song. There is No Alternative- A good song. Is Tina Sugandh Indian? I dunno. Still, a good song. Unwritten- I'm not very sure of what my opinion is for this track. |
