The New Black (Token), December 30, 2009
This review is from: Ice (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
A life of crime and drugs is the way of Black, and his brother E-Double. Being conservative in his mannerisms, compassionate, and if times call to be ruthless, Black still has a vision to bring down a heartless druglord name Ice, that's now ruling the city of Elizabeth, NJ. Black recruits his cousin name Woo, and his childhood friends whom they soon become the Eastwick Hustlers. Ice being heartless and ruthless rules the Port Au Posse Prince and the drug game with an iron fist. A bloody war is about to break out while the Eastwick Hustlers and the Port Au Posse fight for territory. Crooked cops and politicians hold the court to who will reign, but also holds the key to who will get the final downfall.
The book of Ice is a tale of power, greed, lust, loyalty, and even family values. This book moved fast, the plot was good, and the characters stood out. The story has been told before about the struggle between two druglords, but I think what makes this story unique is the message some of the characters portray about education, doing what's right, and forgiveness makes this book a lasting impression. The final showdown between Black and Ice could have been more thought out, but the author did try to step out the box and make some of his characters unique, although the author did go over the top with the religious voodoo. I would caution the author that there's a fine line to draw on how to write the believable and unbelievable and on that note the ending for some may leave somewhat of an unbelievable impression. This book offers a great deal of violence, but it is balanced out with humor. For it to be the author's first read I commend him on trying to step out of the box and keeping his readers intrigued. If you like to read shocking action, druglords, and shady cops and politicians, the book of Ice will make it a worthwhile read. *4.5 Stars on a job well done.*

Great book, November 28, 2009
This review is from: Ice (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I loved this book, this is one of those books you keep and read again, it was exciting from beginning to end. This story is about hustler vs. hustler, crooked politicians, corrupt police and a DEA agent that are against each other. Its the Port Au Prince Posse against the Eastwick Hustlers. Black was the leader of the Eastwick Hustlers he was my favorite character even through he was young he had a head on his shoulders and looked out for his family. Ice was the leader of PAPP and he was a cold blooded killer that didn't trust anyone he was just evil, but like the saying goes Karma is a b**ch. Get this book you won't be disappointed. I hope Mr. Robbins he is in the process of writing another exciting book I can't wait.

Ice Cold To a Certain Degree, June 16, 2010
This review is from: Ice (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
Before I write this review let me give Will "Half & Half" Robbins props for a
head bager of a book that was colder then a block of dry ice.I was starting to
lose my faith with Triple Crown Publications because of all the week material
they have released over the last couple of years, but with the release of ICE my
faith & love for Triple Crown was restored a little bit.ICE is a well written
book with a decent story line & great character development. To me the best part
of this book is the author himself,Will Robbins definitely knows how to write a
book that will keep you interested from start to finish. There are over a dozen
main characters in this book which is a large amount but Will Robbins writing
style is so on point you dont have a problem keeping up with all the characters,
the story line or the plot. The title character in this book is ICE who is colder
then the dark side of the moon,he is a ruthless drug lord who only cares about
himself & his blood money. He makes Neno Brown from New Jack City look like a snot
nose cubscout.Next in line is Black who is also a drug dealer who cares for his
people & has mad love for the hood. Now as good as this book is there are a few
negative things to talk about, the voodoo priest by the name of "Dunois Dubois"
is first in line. It's bad enough that I could not pronounce this guys name but
the things he was doing in this book where way beyond unbelievable, from pulling a
mans heart out of his chest to making a mans eyeballs come flying out of his head.As for ICE with all the hell he raised, the pain & suffering that he caused in
the hood he got off way to easy for all the people & lives he destroyed. Also the
ending of this book was very disappointing & should have been much better.I would
highly recomend this book to people who are into hood books & street fiction and
I'm looking forward to the next hot joint from Will "Half & Half Robbins"
