Book Description

June 2003
In this exciting new audio book, hosted by Laura Lee, I talk about the ice-age cycle (for three uninterrupted hours!) and tell the whole story, in depth, as to why I think the next ice age could begin in our lifetimes.

I also discuss the "Missing Chapters" -- the six chapters not included in my book Not by Fire but by Ice. Now that the climate is progressing as I forecast, I think it's time to bring these chapters to light. Here I look at the implications of the cycles of Earth's magnetic field reversals, and how they impact evolution.)

This is an important message, and I thank the many scientists and citizens the world over who are now looking at this question, and the drastic and immediate implications for our global future.

About the Author

ROBERT FELIX Ice Cycles: The Imminent Return of the ICE AGE Geologists tell us that our planet spends most of its time in the throes of ice ages that last for a hundred thousand years, and that the interglacial periods, where the world is relatively free of ice, are short by comparison. If this cycle continues in the way it has played out for several million years – our time is almost up. The last ice age ended about 12,000 years ago, and is due for a reappearance. Is it already gearing up? How could it, with global warming heating up our atmosphere? Isn’t the present danger a world too hot, not too cold? Robert Felix has been researching this very question for the last twenty years. His answer is an in-depth analysis of data culled from many disciplines, and he has a growing number of scientists agreeing with him. It’s not the answer you want. But it does help make sense of strange and worrying weather patterns. And if the next Ice Age is on its way, we need to be prepared. Robert Felix explains complex data and mechanisms in a clear, concise, and entertaining way. Your whole view of the weather, of grand planetary and cosmic cycles, their impact upon our world and the implications for humanity and what's ahead in our future --- is about to change. Take this fascinating journey, and watch and see.

Laura Lee, talk show personality and journalist, hosted the nationally syndicated Laura Lee Show (lauralee.com) on radio for ten years. Laura Lee is noted for her ability to summarize and articulate complex ideas and make new research accessible to us all.

1.0 out of 5 stars provocative information but abysmal presentation, March 30, 2004
This review is from: IceCycles: The Imminent Return of the Ice Age (Audio Cassette)
If you've read Not By Fire But By Ice by Robert Felix then you'll find almost nothing new in this audiotape, in spite of the claim that it contains "missing chapters" of that book.

Though I forgive Mr. Felix for the informal style of presentation (since he said in the intro to his book that he meant it to be an easy, fast read), I cannot forgive Laura Lee for a thoroughly annoying and unprofessional host/interviewer style. She interrupted Mr. Felix countless times. She'd introduce him or ask him a question, only to interrupt him in the middle of his answer, or start summarizing his answer before he finished giving it, or interrupt the answer to introduce a different topic or mention a related study... By the second tape I was yelling "Shut up!" at the tape player.

Like others, I'd like to see a more organized presentation of the argument and supporting research. This tape is definitely not it. For the basic ideas however, read his book.
