If you're a geek like me, the gadget factor on this item is high. It's a cool conversation piece, and has pretty good sound. If you are looking for high fidelity this isn't the unit for you. It's better for a portable situation. I travel full time in my job, so having something very portable was important to me, with ok to good sound quality. This unit hits the mark.
The first thing you will notice is how heavy/dense this little guy is... it has that "wow this is heavy, it must be expensive" feel. Set it on a table and you hear it loud and clear, lift it up and the sound goes away... the remote is disapointing and seems very cheaply made compared to the unit. Adjusting the base up or volume above mid way adds a ton of vibration and the unit actually starts to pulse and walk a bit on the table top. Again, I am happy with this buy, but know what you are getting.

I've heard a couple other inductive speakers before and this unit definitely wins hands down in quality of sound and apparent build quality. Being able to easily tune the bass and treble allows for a bit of fine adjustment to the acoustics of the surface you're using as well -- a big plus.
Of course this is no hi-fi sound system, but it sounds better than a number of small portable speaker systems I've heard, especially considering its size. I'm sure the fact that it's actually AC driven instead of battery powered probably helps as well. Of course this makes it a little less portable, but if you're near an outlet most of the time when you want to listen to your music without headphones, this little brick will do the trick. Lastly, you have to admit, it's just plain cool to turn any solid piece of furniture into a speaker.

Magic Kube,
By This thing is cool!Sounds real good, or makes what you set it on sound real good.Nice heavy table or wooden counter top are the best so far.But my laptop cart is great too.I hope they start making bigger ones. The possibiltys are endless for this technology.I'm sure I will buy at least one more!
