5.0 out of 5 stars Ice bug running shoes, January 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These shoes are excellent for running in the winter. I wear a size 10.5 EEEE. The size 11.5 fits ok. There is a good arch support. On ice I can pretty much just like on dry ground. The colors are a little flambouyant. Don't wear these shoes in a house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Icebugs Men's Gryllo Bugrip Trail Running Shoe, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Icebugs Men's Gryllo Bugrip Trail Running Shoe (Apparel)
These ice-gripping shoes are well made, an excellent value on sale, and would be perfect for walking or hiking on ice. However, they are called a "trail running shoe", which I think is a misnomer, since they have extremely stiff soles (really hard to bend), which generally translates to minimal shock absorption, possibly contributing to achilles tendonitis and issues around the knee ligaments. For folks that like to run and pound the trails, I'd recommend a cheap pair of rubber ice grippers that can simply be slipped over a well-designed running shoe. They're generally good for many miles and can be used on other shoes as well. But if you live around a lot of ice and enjoy lower impact activities, such as hiking or walking, Icebug Gryllo Bugrips may be just the shoe for you.

Attention Senior Citizens/or anyone who fears falling down on snow or ice.
I picked up a pair of ICEBUG SHOES from a person who was selling them on EBAY. Since my pet dog, RUSTY, a rescued cocapoo, loves walking down our ice covered, slippery street every day during the wintertime, I was deeply concerned about the safety hazzards of our daily walk. Have you ever fallen down on a slippery ice and snow covered street?
Not to mention the pain, expense and agony of a broken hip, leg or arm, you can help prevent this misery by buying yourself a pair of carbide studded icebug shoes.
They are simply devine! Each shoe bottom has 16 spikes so I have sure footing, a solid steel grip with my feet, and no more fear of loosing my grip on snow or ice.
I couldn't be happier and I purchased another pair for myself from Amazon.com
So, both my wife and I are plowing through deep snow, ice and slush, safely. Did I mention that they are made for runners who do not want to quit running in the winter?
I know you could just purchase a rubber attachment to your regular shoe, which would be the least you might want to do, but having the steel spikes dig in to the ice is so good. You can also walk on dry surfaces, because the spikes recess down into the rubber soles when on dry surfaces and as soon as you apply any weight to the shoe. They are God-send!!
