Small and not heavy book, you can take it to your trip very easy it fits in every hand bag. A lot of info inside with a lot of tips and colorfull pictures that will help you to plan your trip in advance.
It Icludes a foldable map (not waterproof) a good extra, also have a plastic cover that helps you to maintain it like new!!!

Accuracy of Map and Book,
This review is from: Iceland Travel Pack (Globetrotter Travel Packs) (Paperback)
I just returned from Iceland. The map was very poor. Many of the scenic spots were in the wrong location and on the wrong routes. Many route numbers were mis-labeled and some did not exist.
If you want an accurate map and book, don't buy this one! The book was marginal at best with poor descriptions, little information on key points and in general was of little value or interest.

Very Good Overview,
This review is from: Iceland Travel Pack (Globetrotter Travel Packs) (Paperback)
The Iceland Travelpack provided a very good overview of Iceland attractions - waterfalls, glaciers, coastline, volcanoes and geysers. The Travelpack, including accompanying map, enabled us to outline an itinerary for our trip. Further research on the web of specific attractions highlighted in the Travelpack is recommended if you are planning to tour on your own. Information on places to stay and eat is minimal. However, regional service centers are identified, facilitating online searches for hotels, etc.

Informative - nice book......nice pictures. I got a bit sidelined with the volcano so when all is good, I'll get myself to Iceland and use this guide.

Outdated and problematic,

This book is good for knowing *what is there* and the approximate area it is in.
Elsewise, it is outdated, and got us into serious trouble when the map had interpreted a *hiking trail* as an actual road. Driving in Iceland comes with its own risks, that one must accept, but it put us on a road that was impassable, caused us to run into a fence strung across the road, get a flat tire, and put us out of our way by 3 hours. Thankfully the we aren't mechanically challenged and the Icelandic people are full of kindness and were able to help us sort it out. So, If you want to know about what is going on, this is useful, but double check your routes and information, and keep in mind that there are several cities with the same name in Iceland, but in very different places, which may cause confusion -- Especially when there it so much beauty, everywhere.

We're just back from our 2nd trip to Iceland. While this book claims to have been published in 2009 we found several old and outdated pieces of information. It appears they just republished an older volume and didn't bother to really comb it for out of date information. Also, we found the information just too condensed and basic. The book itself says "The area to the east and south of Reykjavik is the only part of Iceland which some short-term visitors see", however, if it is indeed the most visited area of the country, as the book implies, then why do they not spend more time on it. This section of the book offers no more or no less information about the Reykjanes Peninsula than it does any other region. Very disappointing and a waste of my Amazon.com giftcard.

I liked the book - I read it before the trip. Map didn't prove to be useful to me because we didn't travel around Iceland and their tourist office provides good maps. But overall pleased with the information and appearance of the book.
