What I liked about this book is when Otzi and the every day objects that were found beside him are unique and wonderfully prserved clues to daily life in a time that has long been mysterious. I also lied when I saw the title, that really caught me.

The story of the Iceman was fun to read because it's about people who found a dead body in the ice and because it had cool pitchers.

5.0 out of 5 stars To whom it concerns, December 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Iceman (Hardcover)
To whom it concerns,

My review is, the first thing that caught my eye about the book was the title The Iceman, right away then and there I knew it was some sort of a mystery. Another was when the information said he is more than 4,000 years old, and when it showed a picture of what they think he looked like.

We just read Iceman and I think it was pretty good. I liked how they told how he got there and what he did (the iceman).

5.0 out of 5 stars I think it was an excellent book that people should read., May 27, 1999

I am 9 years old and in 3rd grade. Mrs. Parrman one of our class readers brought the book and read it today to our class. It was a very astonishing and excellent book. The whole class was fascinated by it because we had never heard of the mummified man at the Alps (Iceman). A man and woman were hiking in the Alps and found this mummy. The scientist brought it down and studied it and found out it was 5,000 to 6,000 years old. The whole class loved it and I know you will too!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great archaeological find brought to life, January 10, 2003

This review is from: The Iceman (Hardcover)
This book will fascinate children who show interest in ancient civilizations. And, because it shows pictures of a naturally mummified body, it might just be interesting to just about any elementary or junior high school child. This book gives a brief but interesting overview of the recent discovery of the Iceman, a 5,000 year old man found frozen in an Alpine glacier. The book tells this remarkable story while teaching the basics of history and archeology. This book is also an enjoyable read for adults.
