Great Acoustics,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ich Bin Aus Jenem Holze (Audio CD)
Reinhard Mey has been putting out music for his fans for decades now. He started as a balladeer and acoustic guitar music is his forte! This is one of his earlier albums (the song 71 1/2 is a reference to the year 1971). Listening to it is a great way to improve your German if you happen to be, as I am, a non-native speaker of the language. Reinhard is a great song-crafter and plays some of the most beautiful melodies around. He's also a great humorist -- Der Morder ist immer der Gartner is a great example (it translates--the murderer is always the gardener, and it's a takeoff on all those English mysteries where the murderer is always the butler). If you enjoy songs where you can enjoy the story as well as the melody, take a chance and try Reinhard Mey!
