Ichigo Tensa Bleach 1060 Carbon Steel Handmade Bankai Katana Sword

I am very happy about this sword, I think it is worth every penny of the price. The reason my review is not a 5-star is because a 5-star review means the item was perfect, and this wasn't.

Good Points:
-The blade is very solid, it feels like the real deal.
-The edge is fairly sharp. It won't cut through paper cleanly, but if you swing it at a watermelon, it'll go right through.
-Nothing rattles whether or not the sword is in the sheath.
-The sword fits in the sheath tightly and securely.
-The wrapping on the handle is tight and well done.
-The black finish on the blade is painted well, it could even be a powder coating, but I am not sure.
-The finish on the sheath is done well too.
-The Storage box the sword came with looks really cool. Its red and black with Japanese designs on it. Not high quality though.

Low Points:
-The blade is slightly bent, about 2/3 of the way down there is a 1 or 2 degree bend to the left.
-The inside of the sheath is not finished well. If you leave the sword in it for a while (a day or two) then the blade will come out with bits of wood and resin stuck to it. They never sanded or put a finish on the inside, its just raw wood.
-The blade and the inside of the sheath come covered in knife-oil. That would be fine if the blade was bare steel, but its painted, there is no need for the oil, and it only makes the wood chips stick to it.
-The brass piece where the blade begins should be black to match Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu.
-The chain on the hilt is made with rounded links not square ones like the anime. They did include a broken link at the end, but it doesn't match the rest of the chain. It is a piece of sheet metal in the shape of a crescent moon with a hole in it to connect to the chain. Yes, I know that a real broken link would fall off, but they could have matched it better.
-There are wood pins in the handle that look very crudely put in. I assume that they hold the handle to the metal underneath, but they are raw wood and look unsightly.
-The lowest low point is that there is a silver-colored "CHINA" stamp on the blade. I don't really care where the sword was made, but they could have put the stamp on the bottom of the hilt, rather than a silver stamp on a black blade that can be seen from 20ft away.

I know I put in a lot of low point, but I figured you would want all the details about the product you are considering buying. When compared to the other cosplay sword that are made of stainless-steel this one far exceeds. Just read some of the reviews, some have arrived with a blade crooked to the handle. Also, why would you want one of the swords that is 68in long? That is 5'8", a lot of people would not have the arm span to draw it. If you want a sword that is the real-deal, this is not it. This is a cosplay sword, a very good one, but nothing more. So, if you are looking for an excellent cosplay sword, this is the one for you.

Worth the money for sure, very good quality, feels heavy and solid, pretty sharp, all the good points are the same as mentioned by the other reviewers, except the one I got seem to be of a slightly different model (newer? or just different maybe) and here are some of the main difference from what some of the older reviews mentioned.

- Main difference in the model i got -
1) the sword is perfectly straight, not slightly curved like the traditional katana or what's shown in the photos. the good thing about it is that it is much more accurate to Ichigo's blade, but because it's not curved, functionality suffers a little (but hey , you can't have both ways and have a perfect replica is the main reason I'm getting this, and it is still very much functional and deadly)

2) no engraving of "china" on the sword any where, not on the blade, not on the handle, if it's there, I can't find it.

3) the Fuchi and Kashiri are NOT plastic anymore, they are made with a metallic material (not carbon steel, but metallic), and both now have intricate dragon pattern on it.

4) The sword stand it came with didn't have the Manji logo on it, but this is really no big deal.

Also want to point out that you'll see 2 round pegs of wood (bamboo) stick out a bit on the handle, those goes through mekugi-ana (tang hole) , and is there to hold the wood handle shell on top of the steel, the sword is full tan.

So over all it's really an awesome buy. Don't get this if you are looking for an exact katana grade sword with the blade curvature and perfect balance etc for serious swordsman practice. But for bleach fans and people who like a good sword, you will love this and it is still very much functional and deadly, not a toy for the younglings.

All in all, for the price it's a pretty neat looking display piece. There are some minor flaws as others had noted, most annoying being the "China" marking on the blade. I don't personally care for the chain as it was, so took off the end piece and looped the chain back to the handle. Doesn't look too bad that way in my opinion. For a sub-$100 piece, can't expect perfection, but again does look great from a distance.

The box is really a piece of junk, but works good for keeping it semi protected while shipping, so it serves it's purpose for that.

ok, first its pretty good length, nothings loose, great grip, comes sharp, and the case is pretty awesome. it's a little heavy, but i don't really care, and you probably wont eather. (at least on mine) theres a little chain at the end of the handle, thats kind of annoying when you are using it, but u just need some simple plyers and u can take it right off. so over all great product!

If your a fan of the anime Bleach, or just like the looks of the sword, this is best version to get IMHO. This is a fully functional, full tang katana, and very well made for a sub $100 sword. One great thing I noticed, unlike other reviewers, my katana, which came just a few hours ago, did NOT have "CHINA" written on the blade, which I was very glad to see, the blade is just beautiful, with a black gloss finish; the fittings are very well made considering the price, there is no loose parts, no rattling noise.

The blade isn't exactly razor sharp, it's not sharp enough to cleanly cut through paper along the edge, but its still decent. I would only use this sword for decoration, even though its a fully functional sword, its not hard to scuff and scratch the black finish on the blade. I guess you could go through the trouble of stripping the paint, polishing the blade to a razor sharp edge, then having a local shop redo the glossy black finish

This sword is an amazingly beautiful replica & razor sharp (& I do mean razor sharp)! Wonderful craftsmanship, painting...a total gem and great piece to add to any collection.

This Sword is great. It feels like a real sword and looks just like Ichigo's Bankai, for the most part. There are some small things that I can overlook. But the one think that really gets me is the word china on the blade. I don't know about anyone ells but i could care less were this sword was made. As long as it was made well. This sword was made very well but its still a display item. Other than that its a great sword. It is sharp but probably not sharp enough to do any serous cutting. Defiantly a good gift for any Bleach fan.

I was a little disappointed with the handle, it's wood and has a big 'made in china' stamp on it, but overall this is a wonderful sword for the price! The blade is gorgeous and the box it comes in is beautiful.

I am very happy with my new sword and on how quick it got hear and the condition it was in.
