Book Description

Indigo September 1, 2008
Icie Ellis met a man. A strong man, a dying man, someone who gave so much to her before his wonderful spirit was taken away from her. Manuel Mammoth had become so many things to her, mentor, friend and father. Everything she needed in her life at the time.

Now, five years later after building a reputation for being an excellent physical therapist, firm in what she required of her patients, even going as far as being cold in her demands. This she did to make them whole again, able to enjoy life once again. She was being forced to work with Clay Mammoth. He was self absorbed, super athletic who neglected his father. Clay was known for his love 'em and leave 'em attitude. Icie would never forget all the times Mr. M talked about Clay. He never came to visit, missed all the important holidays, but Mr. M loved him anyway.

The red-hot football player could not find a therapist to work with him. Work, Icie had never worked so hard in her life. She worked to fight his anger and her own. They agreed to a truce only to discover other emotions. Her goal was to get him back on his feet and forget him. But her icy exterior had been pierced. The "Ice Princess" was in for the fight of her life.

More About the Author

Pamela Leigh Starr, a wife and mother of three, works to aid teachers in creating readers, and hopefully future fans, as a National Staff Trainer and Consultant for an educational publishing company. Ms. Starr traces the budding of her love for writing back to her very first creation, entitled The Terrifying Night, an approximately 20-page comedic thriller illustrated by a fellow seventh-grade classmate. Long after the writing of The Terrifying Night, Ms. Starr found the courage to develop love stories that were thrilling and romantic and continues to do so. She has fallen in love with presenting the never-ending cycle of two people meeting, opening their hearts and finding their way to love.

3.0 out of 5 stars True To Her Name, January 1, 2003

This review is from: Icie (Indigo) (Paperback)
Icie's name is derived from her late mother's dark sense of humor and true to her name, Icie is cold and elusive to people who do not truly know her. Icie, aka, I. C. Ellis, Icie girl, Ice Princess, is a physical therapist whose clients are children. However, she is talked into taking on as a client, a professional football player by the name of Clay Mammoth. Icie and Clay have a history of dislike towards each other and neither is happy about the arrangement. Clay is an arrogant, heartless womanizer who, years prior, berated Icie for what he perceived as her gold-digging ways with his dying father.

The story lacks a captivating pace; the development of the central characters' attempt to overcome their issues with each other is labored. Lack of communication, deceit and secrets are the premise of this story that holds promise due of the offbeat humor and trials of the secondary characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars i like this story, December 9, 2008
This review is from: Icie (Indigo) (Paperback)
of course i always had a thing for the thin line between love and hate scenrio.
i liked how icie was not just some dumb twit who couldnt take care of herself but a smart educated strong (depending on the situation) woman.
Now, this is my issue with this book. there was no development of them falling for each other. i mean it would have been nice to know when the realization that Icie wasnt a golddingger hit "#51" and he crossed over from "i hate you and wish you were dead" to "i love you and can't go another day without you"
all i'm saying is that it would have been nice to have somebody, anybody would have cleared that little mystery up for me.
I didnt like the fact that Icie, this strong independent woman, was so weak for that man but i guess that ws the point of the whole love thing.
another thing that got my goat (lol i dont know why i put that saying up here. i never say it but it's just so funny) was MaMMoth was a idiot! i mean he was smart but he did stupid things... a lot of stupid thing. illegally (stalking) stupid things. and he jump to too many conclusions. i mean really how are you going to have four kids but spend all that time at someone elses house and set "appointments" to meet up with them. thats a great mother for ya!
sarcasm aside i did like the book alot and i plan on reading it again, however i do not plant on ever purhasing it.
you get what you want out that last comment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sluggish!, December 2, 2008
This review is from: Icie (Indigo) (Paperback)
Okay when I began reading this book I felt the plot was pretty cute but what began to drive me crazy was the long drawn out development of a relationship between Icie and Clay. I felt myself screaming inside because I thought some parts of the story did not need the kind of detail the author gave and other parts that should have been developed were cut short. I felt like this book would never end. I wish the author would have allowed the two characters in the story to explore their relationship sooner. I mean they really don't come together until the very end of the book and by then it seems rushed and more of an afterthought. This is the first book I have read by this author and I really hope that this isn't how she writes all the time because if so I don't think I'll read another one by her. I mean I would recommend this book only if as one other commentor says you had nothing else to do and A LOT of time to kill because it will drag on.
