My son loves this book. We talk about the different bugs on each page - he thinks they're so cool. The numbers are a bit of an afterthought for him at this point. But it provides him some exposure, in a fun way, without sticking flashcards in his face.

I read the book The Icky Bug Counting Book. It was cool. After all I think that Ralph Masiello's illustrations are awesome.Did you know that he puts secrets in he's illustrations? He is very creative.

I think that the Icky Bug Counting Book is really creative. I think this because if you read it backwards it is an alphabet book. Other things that I like in this book are the illustrations, they are terrific and the bugs that are in the book are extraordinary bugs that you don't see in your every day life. This book is excellent!

I thought The Extinct Alphabet Book was neat because it did not have any dinosaurs. It has a really cool secret. The most cool thing to me was it had cave men (before I read the book I thought cave men were people.)I thought the book was lots of fun! Why don't you read it and see what you think of it?

Ralph Masiello is a fascinating illustrator because his pictures are creative. Did you know that there is a big secret in the Icky Bug Counting Book? That is why Ralph is a fascinating illustrator.

this is a book for a much older child who wouldnt enjoy the counting component because itd be boring. i dont understand the great reviews, maybe three pages have interesting facts, the rest is just dull. and having bugs that look like bees and ladybugs but arent is annoying. i found the book very disappointing. and its not a counting book for small kids and for older kids who might enjoy maybe three pages theyd find the counting dull

I love this series of books. I own the entire collection and I use them across the curriculum. The series covers such subjects as colors, mathematics, phonics, and science etc. I love these books for English language learners and ESE students. I wish I had purchased them in hardcover because we use them constantly. I also wish I had purchased a class library copy and a teacher's copy. This series is very popular in our class library. There are fantastic illustations in the entire series.

My 5-year-old granddaughter who is mildly autistic and has some trouble with verbal communications (but can read like a whiz), talked up a storm when we read this book together. A fascinating adventure for little ones who love (or love to say "oooh --- icky") bugs. Many of these are not your usual run of the mill bugs. Even some I've never heard of. We especilly loved the honey eating ants that people supposedly like to eat(oooh --- icky!), but I don't know who would really do it. I highly recommend this book for both the descriptions and the wonderful drawings.

I've recommended the entire series in my book, Kindergarten Simplified, for the educational value, but the illustrations are also very nice.
Kids love these books.
