Those of the Eastern Orthodox faith associate the word "Icon," with a relegious image to represent a saint to which ones prays to in devotions. Later the term "Icon," came to mean a symbol on a computer desktop screen representing a function to connect to. In the "Icon, series pop artists collections have been gathered to represent a genre of music. It is therefore,apt that when one thinks of the Motown Sound,that one would compile this collection by Diana Ross & The Supremes, the act that introduced Motown to the world in a big way. Eleven of their twelve U.S. number one Top Pop Hits and the number two "Reflections," are included. Each track has been remastered and sounds better than ever. Listen to "Back In My Arms Again," to feel the pure joy the lyrics convey. The version of "Someday We'll Be Together," has a slightly longer intro. There are no fillers tracks here, just classic pop hits that have stood the test of time. This CD would make a perfect intro to those who never bought a Supremes album, a great holiday gift and a must buy for fans. It is perfect to play in the car for commuting. The cover art is a variation of the U.S. picture sleeve for "Where Did Our Love Go." Best reason to purchase this-the affordable price!

Its good to see the Supremes are kept in history by releasing a serving of
their best selling hits. Old fans of the group know these songs inside and
out and I'd rather have seen "The Happening" (the last billed song under the
"The Supremes banner until 1970) included in this set as well.
But since this is a Diana Ross and The Supremes set I guess "Reflections" which
was the start of the renmaing of the group in mid 1967,
it makes sense to have included REflections on this set. However, there and tons and tons of unreleased stuff by the Supremes in the vaults so I hope they would release it including stuff by the 70's Supremes as well, I have these songs on at least 6 Supremes sets on CD through the years which means they have been recycled again and again.

the supremes had more number one hits than all other girl groups put together. i wonder if these songs will be released for use in upcomming movie based on peters book lost supreme. miss ballard finally get her day in the sun. it is said that faith evans will play florence ballard in the film.
