5.0 out of 5 stars One Rockin band. Icon Rules and so do the 80's!Great Metal!, February 25, 2005
This review is from: Icon (Audio CD)
Icon's first 1984 release is one of giant purportions. Every single song is strong and filled with energy. This album has roaring guitar rifs and great vocals. It's pure and simple metal fun.
1.Rock On through the night(10/10)One of the best metal anthems ever made.Raise your fist and yell!Rock On!
2.Killer Machine(10/10)Another great track, more excellent guitar work and I really like the lyrics on this one(My lady's a killer,She's a killer machine).Great Fun!
3.On your Feet(9/10)Another great anthem with cool guitar riffs.Gotta love it!
4.World War(10/10)Best song on here. The guitar solos are stunning and brimming with excitment.Fierce vocals and explosive guitar work dominate this song with a vengeance. The vocals are excellent.Love the chorus line!
5.Hot Desert Night(10/10)More talented guitar riffs and excellent vocal work.Another great track with an excellent chorus.
6.Under my Gun(10/10)Great song.Solid throughout. The guitar work really grabs you on this one!
7.Iconoclast(10/10)Great instrumental track.Well done.
8.Rock n Roll Maniac(10/10)Another rockin anthem that proves the 80's had the best music.Love the vocals and guitar!(I'm a rockin roll maniac)Truely great.
9.I'm Alive(9/10)Excellent song.more crunching guitar hooks n riffs.Excellent stuff. It's alive with electricty burnin up the night.
10.It's up to You(10/10)Slow song of this album. One of the best ballads of the 80's.Done the way a ballad should be tough and cool.
Overall this album is a must if you want good music or love the 80's.Do yourself a favor and buy this and say to hell with today's music.Buy some real music from the 80's.Buy Icon and Rock On through the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obscure 80's band that should have had MUCH more airplay, February 10, 2006

I first "heard" this band when MTV actually played a video for "On Your Feet". I thought they kind of looked like clowns, but something about the vocals and the guitar work caught my ear, so I went and bought the Album (yes, vinyl). I was wrong, man was I ever wrong. Every member of this band was about as good as it gets as far as talent is concerned. And together they made a very mighty band, on recordings and live!

Sure some of their lyrics were a little cheesy, but anyone who doesn't at least tap your foot or drum your leg or Bang Your HEAD! at the opening of "Under My Gun", sorry but you're just not hearing what I'm hearing. I still listen to this CD/Album to this day,and "Under My Gun" is in my alarm clock and wakes me up every day. Some people like to wake up to birds chirping or something like that. Uh-uh, give me thundering drums any day. If you can afford it, buy this, NOW! Peace!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Heavy!!!, July 21, 2005

Very heavy with melody and emotion with some awesome guitar work. These guys really put alot of feel, atmosphere and emotion on this one and is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Luckily, I have this one and their other two albums on vinyl. Too bad these guys from Arizona, USA never got a wider recognition because they were killer and much better than some of the so called other glam rockers such POISON, WARRANT, CINDERELLA, RATT, MOTLEY CRUE, WINGER and I will stop with the carnage right there even though I can probably go on with the axe.

If you are a fan of power-rock/metallic glam rock, this should be in your collection.
