Marc can sing so many different styles of music. His voice is so beautiful, passionate, powerful and amazing!! It makes sense for him to record an album of these beautiful classic songs. I don't think he should only sing one style of music. Yes his great with salsa. But his voice is way too good to sing only salsa music. I love the album! Love the arrangements, the music, the lyrics, and especially the way Marc sings these romantic songs. He is the best! I especially love the two new original songs. I think this is Marcs best work to date. His voice is even better than ever. Can't wait to see what else he has in store for us.

Marc Anthony is a great singer, and he can interpret ANY type of music beautifully. He adds his own style to these old songs and really surpassed my expectations. It's a tough challenge to sing songs that were originally sung by top singers like Jose Jose. Marc has proven that he can do as good as a job or better than the original singers. I recommned this cd to anyone who loves Marc's voice.

Marc take classics and gives them new life with his great vocal talent.

Marc proves that he can do it all. Yes, Salsa is his main bread winner. However, Marc also had a very successful crossover album, with hits She Sang to Me and I Need to Know.

Marc shows us more success with spanish power ballads, and can take on many genres of music. Why just sing Salsa with his level of talent? Why be subjected to just one style of music? It makes so much sense that Marc took on this project.

This beautiful ballad collection shows that Mark Anthony is above all a great singer. He has the voice and the sense of drama to drive forward these big, sweeping, almost operatic arrangements and the result is one of his best recordings yet. Not many singers alive can combine this range of emotion with so much taste, courage and dignity.

Marc Anthony is an outstanding and daring singer. He has incredible vocal range, as well as the control to move from quiet notes to powerful ones. He puts feeling and conviction into every phrase. The drama may be overwhelming for some, but much of the time the vocals soar, and at times are spectacular.

The arrangements are elegant and meticulously layered, with a mix of classical instruments and pop sounds. As with many of Marc Anthony's productions, they take you to a different place. The songs are classic and well-produced, but the highlight of this album is his voice.

Marc Anthony's new album, "Iconos," is unlike any album made. His rendering of emotions in each of the songs is so moving that it transports one to a visual image of the event taking place in the song! What an artist! Latin music is always my choice for its emotional content and this album cannot be surpassed among my collection. Marc's choice of selections for this album from renditions of his own favorite artists of the past illustrates his reverence for their contributions to the Latin music field. No one else could have achieved the height of excellence portrayed in this album. It's no wonder his final works are sparce--it takes lots of time to contemplate and arrange such perfection in music.

This album is nothing short than phenomenal. He did a tremendous job picking the songs and I felt like I truly appreciated his voice for the very first time.
if you're wondering why the mixed reviews, this album is a complete change of genre for him. These songs are from older generations and very popular songs for those of us who lived in latin america.
If you're looking for more of his old stuff, this may not be for you. If you're familiar with Jose Jose, Jose Luis Perales, and other old school composers and singers - then this is for you!!!

Un disco para coleccionistas que demuestra a un hombre con un buen registro vocal, pero sin la técnica ni la calidad interpretativa de todos los originales que intenta rendir tributo.
Basta comparar cada una de las versiones con su original y sentirás algo le falta. Cantar es algo más que tener voz y dar tonos. Si fuera asi, Julio Iglesias no hubiera vendido tantos discos.
A marc le falta algo y no es Jennifer precisamente

March Anthony's voice is at his best here. I agree with a lot of people...but i'd love to hear this CD in english. It sounds so romantic, i'm kind of jealous i can't understand it. Hopefully his next CD will be english, or maybe record this CD in english.... Just my wish. :-(

Quiero empezar con decir que yo no era fan de Marc Anthony, nomas me gustaban cierta canciones de el. Pero ahora vi un comercial del disco Iconos y haber ecuchado estas viejas canciones me trajo memorias. De cuando yo era nino y como escuchaba estas canciones con mi hermano y mi papa. Acabo de comprar y escucharlo y tengo que decir que me llego fondo. Marc Anthony hizo muy buenas interpetaciones y hizo la canciones suyas. Especialmante las de juan gabriel y las de jose jose. Con su estilo y su voz me demostro que tiene mucho talento no hay ninguna cancion que no me gusta. Les recomiendo este disco sin una duda. Y a los que no son fans de el o no han escuchado su trabajo denle una opurtinidad y ojala les guste. Pero una cosa siles puedo asegurar que si han ecuchado esas canciones antes entoces estas nuevas versiones les ba gustar y traerles buenas memorias.
