This review is from: I'd Do It Again (The Irish Americans) (Hardcover)
I loved this book. If you are interested in the history of Boston Irish politics then you must read this book. James Michael Curley was famous for his melodious speech making and he does the same thing with his writing and recollections of his life and times. It is funny and instructive and in the end is a handbook for anyone in politics. Curley shares his joy of campaigning for office and his opinions of everyone he met along the way. It was a time when the Irish ruled Boston that we will never see again. The Kennedys might define Boston to the nation but Curley rises above them in Boston politics. His place in history is secured.
