Horrible!,

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. I bought this for my wife who has trouble hearing the TV. Or rather, I have trouble when she turns it up loud enough to hear.
We tried the device out - the sound was horrible and didn't amplify it at all. I just threw it away because it was so inexpensive, and returning to the store would have been a big hassle.

Is "As seen on TV" a warning label?,
By Imagine, if you will, this product, sitting on the wide arm of a couch. I turn it on and can only hear a ceiling fan. I crank the volume to 6 (there is no 11, much less a 7-10). I have no trouble hearing the computer fan in the other room and the low hum multiple of receivers in the living room. I can even hear the Rotties half a mile down the road gearing up for their nightly bark-fest. Meanwhile, in the far far BACKGROUND I can hear the TV. Then I'm startled by a very loud "thud" followed by slightly softer thuds, and an odd breathing noise. It's my 4 pound cat, who just jumped to the arm of the couch, walked along the edge and sat on unit. Now I get to listen as her fur rubs against the unit. I wish I could refund the damn thing. You can hit a dollar store for the ear buds it came with and buy a few boxes of earplugs or cotton balls for the person who needs it not as loud.

Great concept, poor execution,
We bought this thinking that it would help my husband's father not have to turn up the television so loud to where it bothers other people. It really does amplify the sound, but not the sounds that you want. For example, if there are children playing in the room, it picks up them more than the television. When you turn up the volume, there is an annoying noise and hurts your ears. You have to turn the television up to a somewhat normal level before you can hear it in the Listen Up and by then, it starts to bother other people in the room. It's sad because it is a good concept but very poor execution of the final product.

Horrible, absolutely horrible,
By It makes me wish that I had looked at reviews before I bought it. If I had, I would not have bought it at all. I'm returning it tomorrow and hopefully I get the full refund for it.

got this for my uncle sence he's kinda old & likes to use hearing aids. i over heard him say i wish i can find somthing i can that doesnt cost much in batteries. ( hearing aid batteries cost too much money)
when it came in the mail & hooked it up and all he was so happy and said i can hear better with this then with a hearing aid.. he didnt like the ear buds that came with it so he went out & bought a cheap pair of head phones.. get for a person that you got to yell at or has the tv up to loud.

Not satisfactory,
My husband didn't like this amplifier. We bought it especially for him to watch TV, however a lot of background noise are not being filtered that he couldn't hear the actual dialog on TV.

Not good,,
This device will NOT perform as is advertised.
If you try to adjust the volumen it hurts your ears just by touching it. |
