I purchased this embosser for my husband as a Christmas gift. I was skeptical about ordering through amazon, as the process didn't seem to make sense, as it is supposed to be personalized, yet when you purchase it, there is no place to put the information. But, I went ahead and bought it, as I was not able to find what I wanted anywhere else. Stamp Xpress, the company who makes the product, sent me an email first thing the next morning, asking what personalization I would like. After reading some other reviews, I made sure I was very clear on exactly what I wanted. I even asked to see samples of the various font types to chose from and they emailed those right away.
Service was very prompt, very helpful, and my husband is thrilled with his new embosser!

I got this embosser in hopes that more of my books will find their way back to me. I recieved it very quickly and the text was perfect. The gold foil seals recommended by the company (Spectra RM300 gold foil seals) were hard to find. I used the Avery Notarial Seals, and they worked fine, though you have to squeeze hard.

The reason I gave this four stars is because the item pictured is not the one you get. The item pictured, with its base and long handle, would have been easier to use. The one I recieved cannot sit on a desk. Well, if it was laying on its side it could. It is meant to be held in the hand and when finished, slipped into its included slipcase. I really wanted to leave mine out on my desk instead of in a drawer.

Update: I noticed that the picture has been updated to an accurate photo. Note, you still can't tell but this embosser will not stand alone even though it looks as though it might.

When I left a country and an institution I'd served for sixteen years, I received from fellow pencil-head Kelly Liebengood the Ideal Personal Library Embosser. I believe it may have been the nicest gift I've ever received and perhaps the highwater mark of Mr Liebengood's unenviable life.

I now stamp my owner's impress into every book I acquire.

The product is very sturdily built. That's a good thing, since the effort it takes to emboss a book's page over time exerts considerable stress on the mechanism. The embosser has a handsome black-and-chrome appearance and a pleasingly substantial weight.

The stamp itself is easy to reorder. In fact, an owner could use more than one stamp in the same embosser.

Who woulda' thought that such a small man could come up with such a fine going-away gift? It kinda' makes you think.

It works beautifully. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a sturdy and portable embosser (it does not stand on a desk as the picture suggests. Maybe they have a base or station for it but it does not matter as mine stays inside a drawer all the time).
I must also mention the excellent customer service. There was a misprint on my stamp and they prompt replaced it.

"I was pleased with the quality of this item, the company sent me a proof to make sure the spelling was correct but ordering it from Amazon was a little confusing. My order was placed on Amazon, my credit card was charged, and nobody contacted me about the name I wanted on the embosser. I had to run down the company, make a phone call, and find out what to do...that should never have happened. " Additionally, after paying for this item, I discovered my credit card number had been compromised and was used by a place called Home Savings Mall that made an unauthorized membership charge to my card that I didn't know about. When I called them, they told me they got my CC number and authorization from Amazon. Shame on you Amazon for selling me out for a few bucks. Customer service wouldn't do anything about it, either. BUYER BEWARE!!

The embosser is good but the merchant did not follow the instruction in making the seal. They did not put all the requested features. I'm stuck with it now. They promised to replace it but have not done it even after repeated reminders (phone calls and emails).

The company was very, very helpful in getting my order expedited. I received the embosser quickly, and was pleased to find it was exactly how I had ordered it. When used on a page, the upper right hand arc of the stamp (about two letters' worth) does not emboss as clearly as the rest of it, but it is still readable.

This company is awesome! They are attentive and responsive to the customer and their product is first rate. The embosser was a gift for someone. It came quickly and included a sample imprint and useful information about use and care. I would recommend the product and company to others.

The embosser came in 2 pieces and it took me a week to figure out how to assemble it. I have no experience with these and my email to their customer service for help went unanswered. Works just fine though!

I was very happy with the product. There was a bit of confusion when it came to my personal requests but in the end it all worked out perfectly. It's a beautiful gift and I am so happy I purchased it.
