Got this for a 5 year old. It's only been in use for a day, but the quality does not inspire confidence. After inserting the batteries, it took some jiggling and re-inserting to get the machine to power on. There are a few dead spots on the surface near the boards, and in the goal mouth. That being said, it works just well enough to avoid frustration so that the child is having fun. I don't have high hopes for durability, though--quality has the feel of a Happy Meal toy.
