I decided on this product after reading the reviews of all the other similar cat doors on this site. It seemed they all shared certain negetive features. At the time this was the only door without reviews. I took a chance and it paid. This is a very well designed, solid constructed door. It requires a 9 volt battery which is included that needs replacement every 6 months. It comes with a very thin adjustable collar and a real small magnet on a ring which slides over the collar. It does not get stuck on the door jamb like some of the other doors reviewed and it is small enough and light enough as to not pick up metal debris. The magnet also detaches and holds I D info on the cat. Great door at a reasonable price.

Ordered cat door from vendor. Had problem with door not responding to opener. Contacted seller, he emailed me almost immediately and gave name of person to contact at manufacturer. New door was sent immediately and postage paid to return non-functioning item.

My cat was already used to having a cat door, but not an electronic one. I purchased this one to keep the neighborhood strays out so that I could let my cat still have the freedom of his catdoor while I was out of town for the weekend. The magnet has to come into physical contact with the base of the door before it unlocks it and it just never seemed to line up correctly when my cat would try to go through it so that the unlock would take. After a few face plants into the door because it did not unlock my cat decided the door was a lie and stopped attempting to use it. I ended up returning it because there is no point in buying an expensive door when I had to just leave it unlocked all the time. Maybe a more patient cat would be able to figure it out, but not mine.

It's a nice cat door and all, but my problem is I have 4 cats and 2 have pee problems so I want them locked in the basement when no one is home or at night. The other 2 cats have the collar and can pass through both ways. The problem is one of the pee cats figured out what the raccoon did in another review... he can pull the flap towards him and duck under the flap.

These cats all have nails, so maybe if your cat was declawed, it might do the trick. If you want to keep out neighborhood cats or critters, it might not work.

After few days of using this flap I went away on vacation, when I came back I noticed some racoon paw prints in the house. A day after my return I was woken up by a lot of noise at 4.00am. I went to check what was happening and a racoon was trying to come in by lifting the flap towards itself, so now I close the cat flap at night and I have to get up to let my cat out. So do not buy this door if you have racoon problems.

We don't mean to downplay the product too soon - might be our own lack of understanding.

However, we're unable to make the battery pack work. It doesn't seem that an animal wearing the battery can have access through the door. The door either locks/unlocks based on manual settings vs. the animal being able to unlock the door in both directions with the magnetic colar if otherwised locked. Basically, the magnetic colar makes no difference and the only thing we've been able to make work is the manual settings on the door to simply lock or unlock.

HELP!! We can't find a way to contact the seller so we're having trouble finding someone to help us solve the problem.

I had to vamp the door because the wall was to thick. I really like it. My cat took some time to get use to it but now goes in and out. The magnetic collar picks up nails so have to check it when she comes in. I'm so glad I don't have to lock the old door any more to keep the other cats from coming in. It is worth every penny.

I was looking for a pet door that would allow my dogs to come and go to the back yard but would keep the cats in the house. It looked like this would be a good, low cost option but it just did not work out. As soon as I got it I knew there were issues. Primarily it was designed to allow the animals to exit freely but prevented entry to animals not wearing the sensor on their collar. It wasn't what I wanted but I was willing to give the design a fair trial so I installed the door backwards so that I could achieve my goal. It didn't help. The door magnets on the collar failed to reliably unlock the door resulting in poopy carpets. :-( Additionally, after I completely unlocked the door so it would swing freely in both directions my smaller chihuahua was not always able to push the door open so she could come back in (remember, the door is reversed and this is the direction it's always supposed to function in) and ended up crying on the doorstep in the middle of the night. Unfortunately I ended up returning the door and am ordering a different model. I hope it works better!
