I ordered this book to learn about the Freer and Sackler Galleries collection. I have glanced through the pages and I like the writing and the information. It is an easy read, informative little book.

When I visited the Sackler and Freer, I looked at this book. Already I was disappointed that it had NO pictures of the Shang Bronzes. As far as I'm concerned, they are the glory of the two collections. (Nor do they have any other books or pamphlets on the bronzes. I found, and ordered, Bronze Vessels...Avery Brundage Collection--excellent.) At least they show the Parvati and the Nataraja--which were not on view when I was there early in July.
