no instructions,

This item arrived with no instructions inside. I cannot figure out how to open it or install the filter or batteries. I called the company and they don't have any instructions to send me. I was told someone will call me with the instructions. Well, I bought this as a gift and I would like printed instuctions to pass on to the recipient. so far no one has called
