Good gaming mouse,

First of all, I own 3 of them, all used heavily for gaming, and that in itself says something. It does have some problems but I still gave it 5 stars because despite them it is in my opinion the best mouse I ever had, including some more expensive gaming mice.
Let's start with negatives. It might look unusual but if for somebody those negatives are really critical, there is no point reading about positives. So: 1. It isn't really programmable. The side buttons are Home, End, Backspace and that's pretty much it. It usually isn't a problem since you can redefine buttons in game, but if you want to assign some complex macros on them, forget about it. 2. Sensitivity is usually reset to the default 800 when switching between fullscreen and windowed mode, sometimes between applications but I don't remember it resetting during the actual play. But wouldn't bet too much on that. 3. Optional driver does provide visual response on sensitivity change but it usually doesn't work in fullscreen. 4. One of the side buttons is hard to reach with your thumb, at list for me, so I push it with an index finger. Still better than not having a button at all. 5. One of the mice came with a defective cord that failed a few months. See, however, below about customer service. Now the positives: 1. After that mouse left a request on their site, was asked to fill online some form and was given an instruction how to send it back. Which was to pack it in any box and call UPS for pickup. So the guy came took my box and after less than a week I received a brand new mouse in a sealed retail box. All completely free of any charges, no shipping, no nothing. Frankly, I was impressed. Don't have any problems since then. 2. Works very reliably on various surfaces. 3. Glides smoothly enough. 4. Aforementioned third side button. 5. Feels comfortable in hand (for 3 of us, your hand may be different). 6. Illuminated logo allows you to easily find it when screen went dark in a dark room. It isn't gaming related but still nice, I think. 7. Wheel button offers enough resistance to not press it unintentionally while switching weapons. That's important for me because I almost always use this button, usually for some weapon related activities like withdrawing weapon. Overall, if negatives don't scare you I would highly recommend this mouse.

I just recieved this mouse from Amazon.com today. It works great until you go to switch user accounts on Vista. Then it freezes and you have to unplug it and plug it back in. I tried to obtain a driver (version 1.3 fixes this issue per [..]) but the company has been bought out by Steel Series Gaming Gear that only offers information, software and downloads for it's 3 newest mice and other equipment. No mention of Ideazon products anywhere. There goes any support for my Fang Gaming Keyboard that I bought earlier this year. Needless to say, I have searched everywhere for this driver with no success, so I'm forced to return it.

This thing is great. If you constantly are having online game trauma, this mouse is all you need. I can BREATHE and this mouse moves! It is redicuous. And the programmable side buttons ensure revenge on your opponents who think they have an advantage! Take that reflexes!!

This mouse has turned out to be one of the best that I have used! The 3 side buttons are better than the 518 logitech that I used to use. For playing BF2 that extra button has made a big differance in my gaming. This is the mouse to buy folks!!

A mouse, but not a good mouse.,

The Ideazon Reaper isn't an extraordinary mouse by any means; The "programmable" buttons aren't. The drivers are incredibly hard to find, google turns up nothing. The DPI settings arent very high, and over all the mouse has a weird shape. If you have one I'd replace it and if you think you want one, you really don't, which is probably part of why Ideazon no longer exists.
Note: An upload for the hard to find drivers can be found here: [...]

I bought this mouse to replace the original dell mouse that came with my computer. It is very fast! Works great in-game. However, about once a week when my son switches users, it goes dead. I have tried everything on the website! So, every weekend i have to reinstall it. I am so tired of this that now I am going to look for a different brand. And Ideazon doesn't reply to my request for support. So, do yourself a favor and GET SOMETHING ELSE.

I bought this item at the time it was on sale, and for the money you couldnt do better. There are plenty of more advanced and expensive mice out there, but I was looking for a replacement for my dying mouse with a broken scroll wheel.
This device is definitely a bit longer than most mice of its category. It allows my hand to lay fairly flat along its length and its really quite comfortable for my hand size. One drawback about its length is that i find myself cradling the back portion with my palm which leaves my fingers depressing the back portion of the buttons, which sometimes requires slightly more force to press down than if my fingers were in the front portion of the buttons. This leads to maybe a fraction of a second lost when playing a game like an FPS or a RTS where every little moment can be critical. While this is likely not a big deal for most people with average hands, if you have small hands and are a serious gamer, you might want to find something a bit smaller. The side of the mouse has a thumb groove that is much shallower than i expected. It takes some getting used to to feel comfortable with it, but it doesnt cause a hindrance unless you are very particular about having a deep groove there. The side buttons have really not been all that useful, and I have not bothered trying to program them. When browsing, they are useful for quickly moving up and down a page, although the 3rd button acts as a back button for me and occasionally can be quite annoying if pressed accidentally. The position of the DPI adjuster is right behind the scroll wheel, but there is a wide enough gap that accidental presses are a non issue. I always leave it on the highest setting and it works pretty well for me. This is not a very advanced mouse in that sense, but the 3 settings are adequate. the scroll wheel is nice and smooth, while the clicking mechanism for it feels a bit heavier than im used to. The logo glows red and its not distracting, and allows me to find it in the dark, which i like. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a mid-range gaming mouse, although for the current price (1/09) im sure you could find something superior in the price range.

Don't get me wrong, this mouse is a good gaming mouse. 1800Dpi is alot for that. I recently have been having problems with this mouse, After 5 months of use it is starting to freeze/skip. So when your playing counterstrike source, per say. You dont want it to skip around and freeze or your dead.
But this was a GREAT mouse for the 5 months that i've had it.

This was an ok mouse for all kinds of gaming but nothing to write home about.. Works well in FPS like UnrealTournment, Crysis, and 007. Comfortable enough to play RPGs for hours on end.
But... Sometimes when starting up windows the mouse has to be unplugged and plugged back in to communicate with the computer. Only at computer start up, never during a game or any other time. It felt cheap, light, and it collected a whole lot of fuzz on the bottom where the eye was. I thought it was going to be better than it really was but I did use it for along time.

Nice Mouse Great Price,

I bought this mouse about a month ago and it is working out great. I saw this mouse when i was looking around for one. it seemed like a good mouse and it was affordably priced too. it shipped in relatively quickly. It comes with a small disk with the driver on it. that loaded onto my computer easily enough.I then pluged on my mouse and it started working perfectly.
This mouse comes with a handy button that switches the dpi on the mouse from 400 to 800 to 1600. There are three thumb buttons that are easily programmable. it is not complicated to set up and it is working in five minutes or less. I have only one bad thing about this: there have been a couple occasions when it is scrolling and the scroll wheel catches on somthing and i cand scroll for a minute, but this isnt that big of a deal because it happens so rarely. All in all, i highly recommend this mouse to anybody looking for a nice gaming mouse but is on a restricted budget. |
