4.0 out of 5 stars RFID in Transportation, June 13, 2000
This review is from: RF/ID: Radio Frequency Identification Application 2000 (Enabling Technology Series No. 2 Electronic Commerce Tools & Technologies) (Hardcover)
Radio frequency identification was invented twenty years ago by a group of scientists at Los Alamos who were seeking to keep track of the cattle wandering around the site. Since then it has been applied to people ID, inventory tracking, and electronic toll collection (e.g. New York's E-ZPass).

Mr. Gerdeman has written a thorough study of the use of RFID in the transportation industry. Although the book was published in 1995, the technology has not changed significantly since then. If you are interested in this application of RFID, then this book will be of value to you.
