4.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive addition to your animal track library, May 22, 2006
By
This review is from: Identifying Animal Tracks: Mammals, Birds, and Other Animals of the Eastern United States (Paperback)
Now here is a bargain of an animal track book:

1. It has dichotomous keys for identifying tracks for mammals and birds. The species list goes into quite a bit of detail beyond "type" or genus.

2. The drawings of tracks and gaits are large and clear.

3. The book is relatively light, and small enough to fit in a small pack or large pocket (7.9" x 5.4" x 0.4"). Paperback.

4. It is inexpensive!

5. It includes notes on reptiles and amphibians.

All track identification books have pluses and minuses. The behavior behind why these tracks are the way they are is not here. Halfpenny's book is much better for this. However, this is a nice book to have in your animal track collection.
