2.0 out of 5 stars very basic, March 21, 2007

This is an extremely basic book, more of a booklet/pamphlet but with pretty pictures. It's sort of on the line with "this is a fir, this is a spruce, this is a pine." Still, it's kind of fun to look at, and to see what specimens they've chosen to represent a species. But if I saw this book in a bookstore, I probably wouldn't have bought it, even on sale. I want something more extensive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the $0.01 I paid, December 3, 2011

I'm not sure what the point of this little book is. Out of all the universe of conifers used in landscaping, the author chose an inexplicable random sample to illustrate and describe. So while attractive, the book does not explain why these particular varieties were included, nor even provide info about how and why to distinguish them from the other thousands of conifers in the trade. I really don't know why this book was published.
