Well I first decided to take a chance on this group because I know and luv Jaci Velasquez's music. I have to say that although I didn't know much about Grand Prize, I can say I am blown away and ever impressed by their music. To be able to combine their christian faith with just plain good music is a wonder to all senses. I hope they keep it up and have much music success. Simply put GRAND PRIZE ROCKS!!!

Well Rounded Offering,

I was intrigued by the new self titled album by Grand Prize becuase a friend recommended them to me on the premise that they sound like Jeremy Camp, being a huge Camp fan I decided to give a shot and am I glad I did. These Boise, Idaho rockers flat out rock and have a spiritual maturity in their songwriting to boot. Although not an album to bite you hard the very first listen, it is an album that ripens after about the third play through and you suddenly find yourself singing along and worshiping God. Although I agree with the Jermey Camp resemblance, their is a bit of Lifehouse and Third day mixed in as well, yet distenctivly and lightly, so as to produce a unique sound of their own. Songs Like "Im Waiting, Break me and Your Love will Never leave appeals to the rocker fan Songs like "King of Kings" and "You are Wonderful" will appeal to praise and worship genre fans as well. Well rounded, mature and relevant!!

My friend took me to a few Grand Prize concerts and I was reluctant to go, but as a resident of Boise, ID, where Grand Prize is from, I really started to like them. This is an amazing cd!

I was listening to the radio the other day, heard a song by these guys, and I was shocked when I heard more. I thought they were just another band wiht one good song, but Grand prize is genuine good stuff! I love alternative rock, and this far exceeded my expectations. It would be nice if it were a tad harder of rock, but I'll just have to live.=P

Surprise me!,

Wow this album really shocked me. I actually bought the CD on sale and left it on my desk for 2 weeks not thinking it was any good. Boy I was wrong. The maturity of this group is amazing and the spiriual depth is shocking. The hidden track really challenged me with my own Christian life. I highly recommend this CD.

Grand Prize is a true Prize to listen to....,

It is rare that I like every song on an entire CD. This CD is one of those rare prizes. The band has a unique sound, somewhere between alternative rock, mixed with a little rap-core with great guitar leads and backgrounds. Teh lyrics in each song have a strong biblical basis, which is also rare with some of the greater sounding bands. Grand Prize's new album is a true prize. I think I will have to go and buy thei former album now! |
