Once again James Fortune has done the darn thing!...I think I had Identity and With You on extreme repeat for the last few days. It is rare that I can let a gospel album play straight through without skipping a couple tracks. I'm telling you "With You" had be in tears and the anointing surely filled the room. I praise God for inspired albums and this is one of them. Highly recommended.

This album has been ministering to my soul for about a month now as some of the tunes I just can't get out of my head! God has truly blessed James and his crew on this album, and that same spirit now strengthens me in my moments of weakness. I received blessings from William McDowell's Arise and Jessica Reedy's From the Heart as well as Kirk Franklin's Hello Fear projects but this is the most personal and touching recording I have heard in a long time!
As the album's name implies, the listener is invited to a conversation between the afflicted and their God, proclaiming, "Oh Lord this is me, I'm asking you to please change my identity!" No single line in this entire project has resonated with me as much as that statement. This album is a celebration, and in many ways, it is a funeral; encouraging future believers to shake their chains of guilt, shame and abuse and pursue the higher calling of a life of righteousness through Christ Jesus.
If you are in the market for a blessing and need further proof that someone out there is prayerfully addressing your situation and interceding on your behalf, please do yourself a favor and grab this album!

Great CD
