Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Erik H. Erikson's remarkable insights into relationship of life history and history began with observations on a central stage of life: identity development in adolescence. This book collects three early papers that-along with Childhood and Society-many consider the best introduction to Erikson's theories.

About the Author

A winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, Erik H. Erikson was renowned worldwide as teacher, clinician, and theorist in the field of psychoanalysis and human development.

If you are a parent of young children, or indeed of any age, this book gives insights into the stages we all go through as we grow up and progress through our lives. So very thought provoking, and a must read for every new parent.

For those licensed counselors who work with adolescents, Erickson's book is a good review of some basic psychological concepts that form personalities in people of all walks of life. This book is especially good for those that work with youth in foster care and the criminal justice system.

Thanks Erikson a lot for the unbelievably well defined and expressed "how one grows up". Except some paragraph-size long sentences, the expiliticy Erikson offers, is unprecedented.... It could proudly be the basic reference for understanding the life cycle of a human....
I appreciate the well done job by Erikson....

Fantastic insights. Erickson's research has been instrumental at shaping the structure and continuity of prospects in many fields of society but were, and still are, fundamental in mental health research in the realm of intellectual developmental deficiencies.
