5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful but not too overwhelming with techno jargon, December 27, 2009

This review is from: Identity Uprising (Kindle Edition)
After reading the author's bio I thought I may be in for another technical manual on how to secure network systems. I was delighted to find instead that the author presented the topic of identity theft from a more consumer-friendly point of view, and focused on its impact from a personal finance perspective. It also covered some areas of technology, mainly about how to secure your personal computer against potential identity thieves.

Overall, for someone who does not consider themselves very technically savvy, I found it to be a very useful book. The most insightful part of the book, and a major theme throughout all of the chapters was the fact that to guard against identity theft, you don't have to drop a bundle of money every month on monitoring services that promise the world, nor do you need to spend hundreds of dollars for anti-virus, anti-malware, or other types of security software. The book actually references some very good free resources that you can use to help protect yourself from all angles. Worth the read!
