5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased
This album is not "Faith in the Future" but it is not supposed to be. This album is an experiment in sound and is expressive and conveys a mood. It is not your usual break beat mix album but an original score, so if you want something with a fast beat or a mix of something you have heard before, then this one is not for you. This album tells a story in sound, it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too monotonous
Their last album was so damned good, I was looking forward to this one. Their last one had a good amount of variety and breaks, medolies and rhythmic change-overs, I was hoping he would expand that with more effects-laden stuff. Unfortunately, my expectations were too high. This one sounds tired and unimaginative, it doesn't even sound like him. It doesn't have that...

5.0 out of 5 stars Uberzone Is Back!!!, October 4, 2007
This review is from: Ideology (Audio CD)
Timothy Wiles is clearly back & blowing minds all over again. What a clear step up from UZ's first album "Faith In The Future". I wasn't a huge fan of "FITF" because I thought his sound was kinda commercialised with it, not that it was a bad album, it just had a different sound than I'd been so used to over the years. "Ideology" very clearly goes back to Uber's roots with the twitchy/glitchy, metalic/robotic, electric/analog sound he made so famous with his remixes of BT, Crystal Method & Keoki, + his own "Space Kadet" & "Freaks Believe In Beats" EPs (both phenomenal productions for those that haven't heard them, buy them if you can find them). In a time while all breaks producers seem to only crank out stale wannabe Hybrid & Plump DJ sounds, Wiles breaks (pun intended) the mold by giving us something both fresh & familiar. My favorite tracks on the album are "Vibrate" & "Satisfaction", but the entire album is awesome. Also, if you can find it, check out Hybrid's remix of "4 Bit" it's far past due the time that Truman & Wiles got together. Ignore the review saying "this album sounds nothing like Uberzone", this album absolutely spews everything that Uberzone has ever been & aside from a couple tracks there's nothing slow about the album. If you've ever been even slightly intersted in breakbeat much less an actual Uberzone fan, YOU MUST BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Standard, July 27, 2009

Have you ever bought music that you liked a lot, but somehow filed it away? The one day you pull it out, put on, and just get blown away. Admittedly, I did this with Ideology. What a disservice I have done. When I saw 'berzone was releasing a new album, I ordered it without question. I was moving into a new house, and even though I had this disc on constant play in my car, it was eventually just filed away into my music library.

Faith In The Future was okay by me, but not the true successor to the Space Cadet E.P. or The Freaks Believe In Beats. Ideology is! After sitting on the shelf all this time (nearly two years), I pulled it out and rocked the house!! I played it twice, then played all the other 'berzone releases available to me, and played it again. The beats are pretty standard if you've listen to a lot EDM and such, but the total groove has the gravity of a Black Hole (strange that there be a track so named) from which sound effects, melodies, and your rhythmically bobbing head cannot escape. By the time you get to Alphawave (track 7) you should be totally sucked in, forgetting about washed up UK Big Beat, the everybody's-doing-it Drum n' Bass, or another Hip Hop Johnny-come-lately. Appropriately, M87 mellows out like you're projected to a far away celestial body before being sucked back to your living room.

So thank you Q!!! It is not often someone can make music or a full-length album within the confines of a genre that runs the risk of becoming contrived or is regularly exploited for a commercial vehicle and still sound so fresh and interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars MASTERPIECE IN MUSICOLOGY!!!!, September 10, 2007
By
This review is from: Ideology (Audio CD)
"Q", who IS Uberzone, has created another masterpiece with "Ideology". He has shown us he had 'faith in the future' by evolving with this new album and taking it to the next level. Uberzone has ALWAYS had his own unique sound that separates him from the rest. Clearly a perfectionist who stands by the integrity of his music (yes, MUSIC, this man is a talented MUSICIAN, not sampler!) and doesn't just throw out sound on a production line to make a buck! This Breakbeat Master fine tunes every sound, taking you on a journey from start to finish. His musicality doesn't just shine on the dance floor either, it works EVERYWHERE! And seeing Uberzone live is a must! You're torn from the moment "Q" hits the stage on whether you should hit the floor or stand in awe watching him perform - he LIVES his music, bringing it to life before you with jaw dropping energy on LIVE percussion. Anyone who has seen Uberzone live knows what I'm talking about. I've been an Uberzone fan from the beginning and all I can say is... it just keeps getting better...WELL worth the wait!

This CD has been playing non-stop since I got it. I've been a huge Uberzone fan for years and was looking forward to this release for a long time. Once again, Uberzone delivers sick beats! BUT, this time he also gives you something unexpected (you'll see what I mean). If you like electronic music with phat basslines, trippy sounds and hooky melodies, then you have to get this album! It's not the typical dance album of 15 monotonic tracks...this is a proper album that takes you on a journey. It moves beyond breaks & is the best of the dance world! I've been to his shows before and these new tracks sound as good on my stereo as they do when he's tearing them up on stage.

YES!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super-Charged Electronica designed to make you vibrate faster!, November 16, 2009

Rock N Rolla (Detroit Rock City, Michigan) - See all my reviews

Ever since I first heard Q (Uberzone) do his version of Kraftwelt's Deranged (If you haven't heard his version of Deranged yet, you have definitely got to do it, it is epic), I have been hooked. Uberzone has done more groundbreaking and very addictive, as well as very danceable music with this release. If you do not find yourself tapping your toes and bobbing your head throughout this album, you might just be a member of the living dead.

Standout tracks are Okay, 4 Bit, Vibrate, FUBAR, Alphawave, and Inner Space.

Uberzone continues to push the limits of production technique while still remaining danceable and funky. Highly recommended for fans of future breaks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, fantastic sound quality, July 3, 2008

Only a few tracks on the album I find less appealing musically, but the rest are so enjoyable I can give it no less than 5*. This is certain to be music I'll be listening to for a long time. And I've put in more than a few hours already. It doesn't hurt that recording quality is fantastic.

Their last one had a good amount of variety and breaks, medolies and rhythmic change-overs, I was hoping he would expand that with more effects-laden stuff. Unfortunately, my expectations were too high. This one sounds tired and unimaginative, it doesn't even sound like him. It doesn't have that distinctive sound we came to know about him. It sounds like he made the tracks more in tune with his friends, so that his friend DJs can incorporate them in to their mix sessions.
