This review is from: Idiocy! Taking Conservatives Behind the Woodshed: A Parody of Ann Coulter's Books and Right-Wing Ideology (Paperback)
I read "Idiocy!" in one sitting. I couldn't put it down! Katherine Black writes hilarious parodies that are totally original. I really like the variety of characters in the book and her satire of Ann Coulter is a riot. The illustrations are great too.

Once again Katherine Black has written a book that kept me laughing from cover to cover. A great parody that makes me wonder what's really going through Ann Coulter's head? A fun read for anyone whether you're liberal or conservative.

Though I generally don't like parody this was well done and took direct aim at the right wing.Ann Coulter is truly frightning and this book calls her on her shamless namecalling and narrow-mindedness.A must read for those who oppose the hatemongering she uses.

Funny and Important - Read This Book!,

This review is from: Idiocy! Taking Conservatives Behind the Woodshed: A Parody of Ann Coulter's Books and Right-Wing Ideology (Paperback)
Looking for a serious work? Looking for entertainment? Either way this book could be for you (well, maybe not if you hold Ann Coulter and people with similar ideologies dear). Even if you are not a politically savvy kind of person you will get a kick out of the images this writer presents, in particular those in the Coulter Family Recipes - hey, Bill Clinton as a Thanksgiving turkey had me rolling! If you want to challenge your political beliefs use this work to help you clarify your point of view. If you want to just giggle at the silliness inherent even in a topic as serious as our country's politics and the people who are a part of it, read on and have fun. I should have been brief and simply said, just read this book and go for a fun ride! Initially, I breezed through book reading only what caught my eye. Then, I went back and really read it. Now, I am passing it along to friends to read. Good work!

Wow! Talk about a beating behind the woodshed! Katherine Black smacks the taste right out of political conservatives' mouths with a real one-two parody punch. Witty, hilarious and rapid fire, Idiocy! exposes the pedantic posturing of today's most notorious neocons in a way that will leave you breathless with laughter. A great second foray into the world of humor and fabulous follow up to Women May Be From Venus...But Men Are Really From Uranus. I can't wait to see what she publishes next!

Funnier than Franken,

This review is from: Idiocy! Taking Conservatives Behind the Woodshed: A Parody of Ann Coulter's Books and Right-Wing Ideology (Paperback)
I've been a fan of Al Franken's writing since his book Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations became a bestseller back in the late 90s. Franken's latest book (Lying Liars) is hysterical. But, to my amazement and surprise, this book Idiocy far surpasses Franken's wit and humor. Katherine Black has delivered what may be the funniest political parody I've ever read and possibly ever written. The actual quotes used by conservatives and the Bushes are intertwined in mock interviews which are so realistic you'd swear they were real. Ann Coulter, resident right-wing nutcase, really is taken behind the woodshed and exposed as the most intolerant hypocrite the conservatives seem to covet. I loved the rewritten literary classics chapter. Its sheer brilliance surpasses any written humor I've seen before. You have to see it to believe someone could write something this timeless yet so timely. I've never seen Katherine Black interviewed but I hope I get the chance one of these days. If her on-air presence is anything like her writing then we'll all be in for a treat.

Thank you Forefathers for Free Speech.,

This review is from: Idiocy! Taking Conservatives Behind the Woodshed: A Parody of Ann Coulter's Books and Right-Wing Ideology (Paperback)
Where would this country be without free speech? We would be in the stocks of town square. We have had so many of our other rights diluted to the point that they might as well not exist. The squeeky wheel gets the grease and all the right wealthy wackos of this country are plenty greased. This book says what the majority of us think but have no platform on which to say it. Give Katherine Black a loud speaker and turn up the volume.
