Product Description

Create safe, convenient storage space for your bike with the Bike Hoist. Space-efficient and easy to operate, the ceiling mounted Bike Hoist is ideal for apartments, garages or anywhere you require additional storage. Mounted along the edge or the center of the ceiling, the Bike Hoist operates like a set of mini-blinds; attach the hooks to the bike seat and handlebars and pull on the rope to raise and lock the bike in the air. Simply loosen the rope to lower it. If the rope slips, it automatically clinches

The pulleys alone would easily cost that much plus some at any hardware shop.

These lifts are as advertised. I use them to keep my bikes up and out of the way while in my garage. The lifts work great for this. The rope is not the highest quality with some frays, but it seems to be working and does hold the weight of the bikes. I don't see the need to pay for the high end lifts when these work just fine.

As long as you're using it to lift a bike or small packages that can be hooked up like a bicycle (and that don't weigh more than the recommended amount), this product is perfect! It is easy to install, comes with everything you need, and has made SO much more room in my garage it's unbelievable! The only concern: When hoisting bikes, try to ensure that the seat is hooked on the opposite end from the rope that's being pulled on. The increased weight at the rear of the bike makes it more likely the bike will rise evenly. If you have the rear of the bike closer to the raising-rope, that part of the bike may hang a bit lower than the rest, and the bike will not rise as far out of the way as possible.

This holds my mountain bike real well. It is a space saver. Due to the way my garage was built I had to get a 1 x 6 piece of wood to attach this lift to and screw all of that to the rafters. The screws it came with was crap - striped easily. I used cabinet screws instead since I had extra laying around. The rope is acceptable. The rope brake doesn't really work. It is supposed to stop the bike from falling if you let go of the rope accidentally but instead it just keeps on going down, slower but it does not stop. The instruction around how to route the rope through the brake is unclear too.

Overall it is cheap and effective. The only bad parts were the instruction manual, rope brake and the screws.

I would buy another again and this time attach a rubber piece to the brake assembly.

I bought this to hang my kayak in the garage. My kayak weighs 50 pounds, so I figured, it would be fine. Then I get the package and it says maximum weight limit is 45 pounds. I added 2 S-hooks and hung my kayak anyway. So far, no problems. It is working fine for what I am abusing it for. Since the kayak hangs over my car, I plan to upgrade the rope from lightweight polypropylene supplied by the manufacturer to something with a higher weight limit/strength.

We have mounted 6 bikes on our garage ceiling with these and gained so much space it's unreal. Very easy to mount as long as you measure distances carefully and think about what you're doing. For my husbands bikes we turned one of the hooks through 90 degrees and hoisted by the back wheel rather than the saddle, this alowed the bike to be raised higher. I was a little worried that getting the bikes up and down would be a real palaver. Not at all. Very controlled and easy. Thoroughly recommend this item.

Works great with long enough rope to hang bikes in shop with 12' rafters. Keeps bikes accessible but off the floor and out of the way.

Not exactly what I was hoping for, kinda cheaply made. Don't cut the rope for any reason, Though I did manage to put two together they are working fine

Great! Very easy install , solid equipment and worth the every penny. Looked at home depot to buy a "Do it yourself" kit and total was 4X more expensive. Wish I had more bikes to hang!
