Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This story is set in 1853, and it's a drama about a man who learns surprising things about people from his past. The author gets quite a bit into it- mystery, suspense, revenge, fantasy, mistaken identity, reunited people, romance, flashbacks. He likes to trick you into thinking something, and later showing you that what you've been thinking is wrong. It moves a bit slowly and the author is a little long-winded-- take the sample and read the roundabout way he introduces the first character to you. That's a good demonstration of his writing style.
