Schall is a delight to read, no matter what he writes. This collection of essays contains musings on a variety of things. Wherever he happens to be, Fr. Schall does a lot of walking. Some of the best essays came out of what he observed on these walks and his reflections on those observations. He's a great admirer of Boswell's Life of Johnson, and it shows. His writing has that same fascination with what is.
