Good stuff,

Thoroughly enjoyable, haven't tired of this song quickly like others.
Though the lyrics might be a little on the starry-eyed idealistic side, it's never a bad or old idea to encourage people to care about the others around them. Of course, it's more of a changed life that comes from giving it to Christ that has one live more selflessly. For another reviewer: Why complain about whether the singers are personally compassionate enough? Or whether you've heard the compassion message before in other songs? It's a song not a sermon, these are entertainers not public leaders, and hypocrisy is not defined by how well you meet your ideals but how much you measure yourself by them. Hey, music is for enjoyment, and sometimes encouragement, and I hear both in this song.

Optimistic Song,

This song is optimistic! It is hoping that if we all were kinder to one another the world would be a better place - a good word for us all.

No I Don't Care,
By Amaranth "music fan" (Northern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: If Everyone Cared (MP3 Download)
"If everyone cared" is Nickelback's hack response to the idealistic social justice anthems of the late, great John Lennon as well as U2. When it comes to socially conscious rockers, Bono is more convincing... because he's actually done SOMETHING. He walks the talk.
"If everyone cared" takes every cliche&makes it blander than before. "If everyone cared/if nobody lied/that would be the day nobody died"-rhymes that are as cloying as they are unconvincing. Nickelback overuses the "lie/cry/die" rhyme because they lack imagination. It's a bland utopia where nobody cries or dies. At least John Lennon could IMAGINE. Originally,Nickelback didn't want to put "If everyone cared" on their latest album, but their fans raised a hue&cry. Unfortunately, they gave in. "If everyone cared" is basically a cookie-cutter version of John Lennon's "Imagine",without the imagination,or the heart.
