My father gave me this book in 1986 for Valentine's Day because he "could not express any better how he felt." I still get the same warm feeling when I read it. I feel connected to the story because it highlights the quirky mysteries of the world and the wonder of honest and true human relationships! Every person should be so lucky to read it!

My friend gave this to me as a Christmas present. It was one of the most touching gifts I've ever recieved. It's a book with some cute humor and a lot of heart. Great for children. (I would've enjoyed looking for the unicorn on every page when I was really little) And it is wonderful for any age, because it makes you feel loved. and everyone needs to feel loved.

If you love someone, big or small, this is the perfect gift for them. This is the sweetest token of love you could give someone. I have given a copy to all of my friends and family. My mom was sick and in a coma several years ago and I read this to her everyday...she is alive and well today. If you are looking for that special something for someone you love this is exactly what you are looking for. It radiates love and will bring tears to your eyes.

My sons, all three of them, have listened to me read this book over and over again. I love the way they answer all the questions as we read the book! We look for the unicorn in each picture as well as the illustrations for each line in the poem . . . it is wonderful and a great memory to pass on as each in turn enjoys the time spent reading this book!

Long out of print, If I Found A Wistful Unicorn had the honor of being the first title ever published by the Atlanta based Peachtree Publishers back in 1978. Now a 25th Anniversary edition has once again made this wonderful and enthusiastically recommended little volume available to a new and appreciative generation of young readers (and adults too, for that matter!). Ann Ashford's simple but elegant poem that explores the heart and core of what constitutes love is superbly enhanced by the endearing artwork of Bill Drath. If you only have time to sit down with a child to read one picturebook story poem -- make it Ann Ashford and Bill Drath's If I Found A Wistful Unicorn!

This book is written for adults to see that if we interact with children positively, they learn that we care for them! The illustrations are wonderful . There is a hidden unicorn on each page that children can be looking for as you read to them. This book can be given as a gift to a parent, spouse, or friend. Read it and you'll find out why!

This is a wonderful book that offers the meaning of unconditional love. It touches the heart and expresses how true love will go to any depths. Although it was penned as a childrens book I gave this book to my sweetheart and it was a very tender gift. It is an excellent choice for both children and adults.

Ann Ashford's IF I FOUND A WISTFUL UNICORN, is no fantasy book, or even a children's book to take lightly. It is a book that possesses a strong gift of love which should be given to someone special when they are in a time of need, or are just looking for a quick pick-me-up when they're feeling down. The lovely, almost hypnotizing prose is enchanting, while the illustrations, done by Bill Drath, are utterly gorgeous. Overall, this is a wonderful book that should be given to someone whom you truly love, and cherish.

I grew up with this charming story and decided I wanted a copy for myself, so I was very excited to see it was still in print and promptly order a copy for me and one for a friend. I was very surprised when the books arrived and they were a quarter of the size of the book I grew up with. My friend loved the gift, and the book is adorable, but not the size of the copy my mom read to me. I went on bookfinders.com and found an old edition, so that I could have it the size I wanted.

The most touching, beautiful childrens book I've ever read...more adults should read this book..
Full of wisdom, beautiful sentiments and love... a must read!
