This is a story that is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching. There are no mistakes or situations beyond God's control. It is a story for our time so that we remember the faithfulness of God through the lives of his servants. We have seen it over and over again in the history of the church. I was looking forward to the publication of the book ever since I saw the story on Primetime and was not disappointed. I needed kleenex before I finished the first page of the foreward not because of sadness, but because of the call a sovereign God places on human lives for His glory. Every Christian should read this book.

I had received this book as a gift and was fairly skeptical to read about it. I have never been one to read biographies, even of people that I was interested in. The book grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. I finished the whole book, cover to cover in approximately 3 1/2 hours. I couldn't wait to go back to it when I would be interrupted to find out what was going to happen to Jim and Roni. It's a wonderful testimony to how God can work in people's lives and eventually in their death, no matter how untimely. I heartily recommend the book and will be passing it around my small group at church.

I was a little amazed that the book read so well. It clipped along really good...never became boring. I have already passed it on to a young man interested in MAF/Missionary Aviation Fellowship. I read it in 3 to 4 days, which is fast for me.
This book boosted my faith tremendously & let me know others believe in the soveriegnty of God. It was a faith builder. Though he slay me, I will still love & worship him.

This is an amazing book that anyone who struggles with what is happening in their life should read.

This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. We all watched and listened as this story unfolded and was horrified. Through Kristen Stagg, Jim was able to tell the story, help us to see it through his eyes, and know how true forgiveness can feel. Very, Very Good....

This book gave hope for all man. God has a plan for the Bowers family and used them in a mighty way for His Glory. Through man's evil there was a great tragedy, but with God's love and forgiveness even the worst offender can be forgiven. Jim and Roni Bowers show compassion and love as they reach out to the people of the Amazon River villages.
